I'm looking to find a new source for older classic films, and I keep seeing recommendations for prmovies.com. Before I spend time downloading or streaming, I was hoping someone could give me a recent review. I've heard mixed things about the site's stability and if the resolution is actually high definition, or if it's just poor quality uploads. Also, does anyone know if they have a good selection of international cinema, or is it mostly mainstream Hollywood titles? Any advice on whether it's worth checking out would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, the quality is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it looks like it was uploaded from a potato.

I found it okay for mainstream stuff, but I wouldn't rely on it for anything important. The buffering issues are constant, especially during peak hours.

I spent an hour trying to stream a classic noir film last week. The stability was abysmal. It kept freezing every five minutes, and even when it worked, the resolution was definitely not HD. I think they are using heavily compressed uploads. If you are looking for reliable quality, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The site feels outdated and poorly maintained. I really hope they update their streaming infrastructure because the user experience right now is frustrating.

Check the settings first.

Are you saying the international selection is weak? I watched a few Korean films there last month, and they were excellent. It's a surprisingly good mix.

Regarding the international cinema, I found the selection to be surprisingly robust. It's not just limited to big names. I managed to find several obscure European arthouse films that were hard to track down anywhere else. While the quality sometimes dips, the sheer variety of genres and origins makes it worth a try, especially if you are a film enthusiast looking beyond Hollywood blockbusters. It's a goldmine for niche content.

I agree with the quality warning. It's frustrating when you are excited to watch something and it keeps glitching out. It makes the whole experience feel cheap, even if the movie itself is a masterpiece.

I had the worst time trying to watch anything on there last weekend. The site kept timing out, and the video player itself seems glitchy. I ended up just watching trailers on YouTube instead. Seriously, avoid it until they fix the core streaming issues.

It works fine enough.

I think the issue might be my internet connection, not the site itself. Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Sometimes that fixes streaming problems.

It's okay, but don't expect perfection. It's better than nothing, I guess. Just be prepared for some buffering.

Overall, my experience was mixed. The selection is massive, which is a huge plus, but the technical performance is a definite minus. If you are streaming on a mobile device, the stability is even worse than on a desktop. I recommend only using it for shorter, less critical viewing sessions, and definitely keep your expectations low regarding resolution.

Given the mix of reviews, are there any specific genres or years of cinema you recommend checking out on there? I'm trying to decide if the effort is worth the potential viewing frustrations.
