I just upgraded my device to the Dragon 89 model and followed all the steps for the latest firmware. Everything seemed fine initially, but now the battery drains incredibly fast, and the connectivity keeps dropping randomly. I've tried a hard reset and cleared the cache, but the problem persists. Has anyone else experienced this specific issue after the last patch? I'm worried this might be a known bug that needs a hotfix.

Me too. My battery life dropped by half after the 8.9.2 patch. It's unbearable.

I noticed the connectivity drops too. It seems like the Bluetooth stack might be corrupted by the update. Have you checked if there are any beta firmware builds available? Sometimes the official release is rushed and contains bugs that need a quick hotfix.

Try rolling back to the previous firmware version if possible. That usually fixes these kinds of post-update stability issues.

Did you check if other users in your region are reporting this? Sometimes it's a regional server issue, not a device bug. I think the issue might be related to the network handshake protocol after the update.

Short. Very frustrating.

Replying to the user above: I actually think it's not the firmware. I updated the OS on my phone too, and the issue started right after that. It might be an incompatibility between your phone and the new Dragon 89 firmware. You might need to check for phone-side updates as well.

Long. I spent hours troubleshooting this. I cleared the cache, I reset the network settings, and I even re-flashed the operating system from scratch. Nothing helped. It feels like the power management profile was fundamentally broken in this specific patch. The battery drain is consistent, regardless of usage, which points to a deep system-level bug. I'm going to wait for an official statement from the manufacturer before doing anything else, as I suspect a recall or a mandatory hotfix is imminent.

The connectivity drops are worse when I'm streaming video. It's like it can't maintain a stable connection to the Wi-Fi band.

I agree with the long post. Waiting for a hotfix is the only way. Don't mess with advanced flashing unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Maybe it's just the initial learning curve of the new OS. Give it a few days. Sometimes the system needs time to optimize power usage after a major update.

I found a forum thread suggesting that disabling background app refresh entirely solved my battery drain problem. It was a simple setting change, but it made a huge difference. Try that first before assuming it's a firmware bug.

This is terrible. I paid good money for this device and now it's unstable. I'm going to request a full refund.
