I'm planning a trip to the area and I keep seeing references to the Greektown Casino, but I'm having trouble pinpointing its exact location on maps. Could someone provide detailed directions or even a general neighborhood reference? I'm trying to figure out if it's near the main waterfront or if it's a bit further inland. Any help with navigating there would be greatly appreciated since I'm unfamiliar with the local area.

It's right near the main strip, definitely close to the waterfront area. You can't miss it.

I used to go years ago. It's actually a bit further inland than the waterfront, closer to the old industrial district. Take the 5th street bus line for the best route.

Seriously, just search 'Greektown Casino' on Google Maps. It pops up immediately. It's a big complex.

Don't worry about the waterfront. It's actually situated on the corner of Broadway and 12th Street. Look for the big neon sign.

Are you sure it's called Greektown Casino? Sometimes the name changes, or maybe you mean the other casino complex nearby? I remember it being very close to the river, but I'm not sure of the exact address.

Short answer: yes, it's very central. Just head downtown and follow the main thoroughfare. It's a major landmark.

I think you might be confusing it with the old Greektown neighborhood itself. The casino is a modern addition, but it draws its name from the area's history. It's definitely accessible by taxi from the waterfront, but don't expect it to be *on* the water.

Reply to user 3: Google Maps is good, but sometimes they show the general area, not the exact entrance. Try searching for the parking garage address instead; that might be more precise.

It's super easy to find. Just take the elevated train line to the 'Casino Stop.' You will see it immediately when you exit the station.

I visited last month. It was a short walk from the main hotel complex, maybe 10 minutes. You walk past a few smaller shops before you see the entrance.

Reply to user 2: The 5th street bus is reliable, but if you're driving, park in the public lot near the corner of 12th and Broadway. It saves you a lot of walking time.

If you are coming from the airport, take the express shuttle. It drops you right at the main entrance plaza. It's the most straightforward way to navigate there.

I recommend checking the casino's official website before you go. They usually have a detailed 'Directions' page with current addresses and parking info. Don't rely solely on general map services.

It's not near the waterfront at all. You have to cross the river via the pedestrian bridge, and then walk about three blocks up the hill. It's tucked away.

Reply to user 1: I disagree that it's *right* near the waterfront. While it's downtown, there's a noticeable block or two separating it from the actual pier area. You'll walk through some commercial buildings to get there.

Just use a ride-share app like Uber or Lyft and input the name. The driver will know exactly where to drop you off. It's much easier than figuring out public transport.

I found it by following the signs for 'Downtown Entertainment District.' It's a major hub, and the casino is the biggest building there. It's impossible to miss once you get into the neighborhood.

If you are staying at the Grand Hotel, you are practically across the street. Seriously, it's a very short walk, maybe five minutes maximum. Just head straight down the main street.
