I've been playing Paddy's Kingdom for about a month now, and while the core gameplay is fun, I feel like the power scaling is completely broken. Specifically, the late-game resource generation seems disproportionately strong compared to the actual combat mechanics. I'm trying to optimize my farming strategy alongside my combat unit upgrades, but it feels like I'm constantly falling behind because of the resource sink. Has anyone figured out a reliable build order or a specific combination of power-ups that makes the transition from early-game to mid-game smoother? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The resource sink is brutal. You have to dedicate so much time just to gathering materials before you can even think about upgrading your main combat unit.

I found that focusing 70% of your early-game resources on utility structures, rather than direct combat upgrades, smoothed out the transition for me. It buys you time to stabilize your income stream before the big resource spikes hit. Try prioritizing the 'Hydro-Pump' blueprint first, even if it seems useless initially.

Totally agree. The combat feels weak until you hit level 50. It's a massive power gap.

>> User_Alpha: Have you checked the forums for temporary patch notes? Sometimes they adjust the resource generation rates without telling the general player base. Also, try pairing the 'Iron Core' with the 'Swift-Harvest' power-up; it drastically improves early-to-mid resource flow.

Just focus on farming until you can afford the Tier 3 combat unit. Nothing else matters right now.

My experience was different. I actually found that over-investing in combat early on paid off more than I expected. If you save everything for resources, you get overwhelmed by the late-game burst and can't keep up with the initial scaling curve. You need a balanced approach, maybe 50/50 split.

Seriously, the resource generation is broken. It feels like the developers just dumped a massive resource patch without adjusting the combat damage multipliers.

Maybe the issue isn't the game, but your farming location. Try switching zones. The 'Whispering Fields' have a much better resource yield rate than the standard starting areas. It's a minor tweak, but it makes a huge difference.

I think the resource sink is intentional. It's designed to make you feel the struggle and keep you engaged with the grinding loop. Don't worry about the power balance, just enjoy the grind.

>> User_Beta: I disagree with you. The grind is exhausting and the combat is still too weak. If the resource generation is meant to be a challenge, the combat needs to offer meaningful ways to *spend* those resources that aren't just buying more gathering tools.

Check out the community build guides. There's a detailed thread on optimizing the 'Aether Conduit' which should help bridge that gap you're describing.

My advice is simple: don't try to optimize everything at once. Pick one area - either combat or resources - and master it completely before moving to the next. Consistency beats complex build orders in Paddy's Kingdom.

The resource management aspect is really the core loop, I think. You have to embrace the farming. The combat is just the payoff for your successful resource management.
