I spent a long weekend at the MGM Grand and wanted to share my full experience. Overall, the location and amenities are incredible, especially the pool area. However, I found the casino floor itself a bit overwhelming and noisy, making it hard to focus on the games. The buffet was fantastic, hands down the best part of the stay. If you're going, I'd recommend booking a table at one of the restaurants in advance. I think it's a solid choice, but maybe not for a quiet night out.

The buffet really is a highlight. I was skeptical, but it lived up to the hype. Worth the visit just for the food alone.

I totally disagree about the noise. I spent an entire evening on the high roller side, and while it was busy, it had a great, electric energy. You have to embrace the chaos a bit! It's part of the Vegas experience, I think.

The pool area is unmatched. We spent three days just lounging and using the cabanas. It felt much more relaxing than the main casino floor. Definitely plan your trip around the amenities, not just the gambling.

I went last month and felt exactly the same way. The location is unbeatable, and the amenities are top-tier. However, the casino floor is genuinely overwhelming. It felt like sensory overload, and it made it impossible to relax or even concentrate on the games. The buffet, though, was heavenly. We ate there every night. For a quiet night, you really need to book a suite or stick to the resort's non-casino activities. Overall, it's a 7/10 experience, but the food and pool push it up.

I found the noise manageable. Maybe you went during peak hours? If you wander over to the quieter lounges near the river walk, it's much more chill. Don't let the main casino floor dictate your entire experience.

Booking restaurants is crucial. We tried to get into a couple of spots without reservations and were turned away. It saves so much stress if you plan ahead. And don't forget to check out the shops - they have some great brands.

Are there any good non-gambling activities besides the pool? Like shows or specific attractions that aren't tied to a casino table?

Compared to Caesars, MGM feels a bit more polished and family-friendly, even if you are just there for the nightlife. The sheer scale of the property is impressive, and the commitment to high-quality dining is evident everywhere. It feels less frantic than some of the older resorts.

Totally agree about the dining. We had a fantastic dinner at Gordon Ramsay's and it was worth the pre-booking hassle. Great tips!

It's expensive, though. Don't expect everything to be affordable, especially the drinks or premium dining. Be prepared for a splurge trip.

While the cost is high, the overall value of the amenities and the experience makes it worthwhile. The sheer convenience of having everything in one massive location is something money can't buy. You get a whole vacation package here, not just a night out.
