I've finally reached a point where the permanent upgrade slot feels like it's bottlenecking my progress, and I'm overwhelmed by the options. I've been running a mix of efficiency and click power boosts, but I'm not sure if I'm prioritizing correctly. For those who have played this game for a long time, what combination of permanent upgrades do you find gives the best return on investment right now? Should I focus entirely on increasing base CPS, or is a mix of click power and efficiency better for scaling? Any specific build recommendations would be hugely appreciated!

You are hitting the classic late-game wall. Honestly, the optimal setup changes based on which resource you are currently lacking. If your clicking speed is maxed out, you must prioritize efficiency upgrades that boost base CPS. If your CPS is solid, then a balanced mix focusing on click power and efficiency is usually best for scaling.

Focus on the Tier 3 efficiency nodes first. They provide the biggest jump.

I strongly recommend going all-in on pure CPS. Click power feels like a diminishing return compared to raw output. You need the multiplier effect that only base CPS upgrades can provide in the late game. Don't waste points on individual click boosts.

My personal build path has been: 60% Efficiency, 30% Click Power, 10% Base CPS. This ratio allowed me to maintain high single-click damage while still having a massive overall income increase. Don't neglect the base stats entirely, they are foundational.

Does the 'Global Multiplier' upgrade stack better with efficiency or click power?

I disagree with the pure CPS approach. While it feels powerful initially, the diminishing returns on the highest tiers are brutal. You need that click power boost to make the investment in the efficiency nodes worthwhile. A 40/40/20 split is much smoother.

Remember to check the current meta patch notes. Sometimes a small tweak to a specific upgrade slot makes a massive difference. Don't rely solely on old guides. Also, always check the upgrade synergy table; sometimes combining two seemingly unrelated stats gives a huge bonus.

Try allocating points to the 'Crit Chance' upgrade. It seems overlooked but provides a huge spike in damage output that synergizes perfectly with moderate click power investment. It's a great middle ground.

Mathematically speaking, the efficiency upgrades provide a compounding growth rate that far outweighs the linear gains from click power. The early game is click-power focused, but once you pass the 500k mark, the exponential curve of CPS dominates everything else. You need to hit that tipping point.

Exactly. The compounding nature is key. It's not about the highest number, it's about the rate of increase.

I think you might be over-investing in the base CPS too early. Instead, try keeping the base CPS slightly lower and funneling those points into the click power and efficiency mix. It allows you to feel progression in both single-click and overall output simultaneously, which is much more satisfying.

Don't forget that the upgrade slots sometimes have prerequisites. Make sure you are unlocking the necessary foundational upgrades before jumping to the highest tier ones. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

The current patch favors a high-efficiency, moderate-click-power build. It lets you maintain a decent click feel while still allowing your overall income to scale incredibly fast. It's the safest bet right now.

Overall, start with a balanced approach (40/40/20) until you hit a major milestone, then pivot hard to the stat that is currently the biggest bottleneck. Don't try to optimize everything at once. Good luck!
