I spent a long weekend at Viejas Casino Resort last month and wanted to share my full experience. The location itself is beautiful, and the pool area is massive, which was great for relaxing. However, the casino floor felt a bit dated compared to some of the newer resorts I've visited. The buffet was surprisingly good, especially the seafood options, but the rooms were quite noisy at night. Overall, it's a decent getaway if you're looking for a mix of entertainment and relaxation, but maybe don't expect five-star luxury everywhere.

I agree about the casino feeling old. It needs a major refresh to compete with the newer spots downtown. Maybe focus on updating the gaming areas rather than the amenities.

Seafood buffet is a solid win. I was skeptical, but the shrimp cocktail was amazing. Definitely worth going just for the food.

Did you try the room service? I found it slow and overpriced. Maybe book a room closer to the main lobby for better access.

Noisy rooms are the worst. I recommend asking for a room on a higher floor or away from the main walkways if noise is a concern.

Totally agree on the mixed feelings. It's a good spot for a casual weekend, but don't expect a luxury spa experience.

Was it busy last month? I went during a weekday and the vibe was really dead. Maybe timing matters a lot.

I thought the location was fantastic, though. Being right by the water makes up for the dated casino feel, in my opinion.

Speaking of noise, are the rooms near the pool area also loud? I was staying near the main resort path and it was pretty disruptive early in the morning.

It's a decent getaway. Just remember to check reviews for specific wing locations if noise is a major factor for you.

The pool is huge, but parking is a nightmare. Be prepared for a long walk from the car to the resort entrance.

I disagree about it being dated. The casino itself has classic charm, and that's part of its appeal. It feels nostalgic, not run down.

I'm planning a trip next month. Should I book a non-smoking room or is that just a suggestion?

The buffet was great, but the coffee station was weak. Maybe bring your own travel coffee maker if you plan on staying long.

If you're mainly going for the gambling, there are better options nearby. Stick to it if you want the pool and the general resort atmosphere.

I'm glad you mentioned the noise. I stayed in a corner room and it was okay, but the rooms directly facing the main thoroughfare were unbearable.

Overall, I'd rate it 3/5. Great pool, okay food, but the room noise really dragged the experience down for me.

I think the value outweighs the aesthetic issues. For the price, the amenities package is hard to beat. Just bring earplugs!
