I'm trying to plan a corporate event next quarter and I keep running into the MGM Grabd platform for vendor booking. I've read a few reviews, but I'm really unsure about its reliability for large groups. Specifically, I need to know if the pricing is transparent and if they handle complex logistics like catering and AV equipment seamlessly. Has anyone successfully used this system for an event over 50 people? Any tips on what I should watch out for before committing to a booking would be greatly appreciated.

I used it for a small workshop, but scaling up to 50+ felt clunky. The vendor integration was okay, but the logistics coordination was manual and time-consuming.

Honestly, I found it pretty straightforward. We booked a product launch of about 75 people last year. The pricing was upfront, and their catering options were excellent. Definitely worth a look if you need something quick.

Avoid it. Their AV equipment rental pricing is notoriously opaque. You end up getting hit with hidden fees for basic setup that should be included in the package.

Did you check their cancellation policy? That's usually the biggest trap with these platforms. Make sure you understand the penalty structure before committing.

It's okay. Nothing revolutionary, but it got the job done. For a simple meeting setup, it was fine. Don't expect miracles for complex logistics.

I heard they are great for initial quotes, but I recommend getting everything in writing from multiple sources. Don't rely solely on the platform's estimates.

The catering was amazing, hands down. They handled dietary restrictions for 60 people without any fuss. That's where they really shine.

Seriously? I thought the pricing was transparent. I ended up paying extra for basic staffing that should have been included in the 'full service' package. Be careful!

I recommend calling them directly. Trying to manage complex logistics through the online portal is a nightmare. Talk to a human planner.

For large groups, I found their communication channels to be slow. You spend half your time chasing down confirmations and follow-ups. Prepare for delays.

If you need complex logistics, use a dedicated event planner who can manage the vendor relationships outside of the platform. It gives you more control and better rates.

How did you manage the AV setup? Was it integrated with the room booking, or was it a separate vendor managed by MGM Grabd?

They handle it seamlessly if you book the premium tier package. It costs more, but the peace of mind and dedicated account manager are worth the extra money for an event over 50 people.

I agree with the previous poster. Don't trust the online pricing. Always get three separate quotes and compare them side-by-side.

My experience was mixed. The booking interface is great, but when it comes to actual execution, they seem disorganized. Check reviews specifically about 'on-site management'.

What kind of event was it? Knowing the nature of the event (e.g., conference, dinner, training) might help narrow down whether the system is appropriate.

Just be very specific about your needs upfront. Don't assume they know what you need. Write out a detailed scope of work document and attach it to your inquiry.

They are reliable for the venue itself, but for the specialized elements like custom branding or complex lighting setups, you might need to source those vendors independently.

I found their vendor network to be quite limited in terms of unique, high-end local suppliers. You might be better off using a local agency that has deeper roots in the community.

Definitely check their insurance coverage details. For a large corporate event, knowing who is responsible if something goes wrong is absolutely critical. Don't skip this step!
