I'm planning a move across town next month and I'm looking into siteone wheeling services. Has anyone used them recently, or can you recommend an alternative? I'm particularly concerned about the cost of loading and unloading, as I have a lot of furniture that needs careful handling. I'd appreciate any tips on what questions I should ask the company before booking, especially regarding insurance coverage and time estimates. Also, do they provide any inventory checklist service? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Definitely get multiple quotes. It's always best to compare apples to apples.

Ask specifically about liability insurance coverage. You want proof of coverage for everything, not just the truck.

They charge extra for stairs and difficult access points. Be upfront about the logistics so they can give an accurate estimate.

Inventory checklist service is a must. Take pictures of everything before they start loading. It minimizes disputes later.

I found a local competitor that was much cheaper and had excellent reviews. Try 'MoveEasy Pros' instead of siteone.

What about time estimates? Ask if the quote includes a buffer for unexpected delays. Moving day stress is real.

I recommend padding fragile items yourself. It saves money and ensures better protection for your expensive furniture.

Thanks for the advice! Should I pre-measure everything or just give them the room dimensions?

You should call them and walk them through the entire process, from loading to final placement. Don't assume they know your layout.

I agree with the insurance point. Make sure the coverage amount is high enough to cover high-value items like electronics or antiques.

Just confirm if the quote includes labor for both loading and unloading. Sometimes they quote only the transport.

If you have specialty items like pianos or large mirrors, ask if they have specialized equipment or trained personnel for those pieces.

I'd also ask about their cancellation policy. Life happens, and knowing what you owe if plans change is crucial.

Definitely get a written contract detailing every service included. No verbal agreements are reliable when moving.
