Best way to spend a day at Hard Rock Hollywood - recommendations?

My partner and I are planning a trip to Hollywood next month and we've booked a stay at the Hard Rock. We love the atmosphere, but we're overwhelmed by everything there to do. For a non-gambling couple, what are your absolute must-do activities? Should we focus on the music venues, or is the pool area better? Also, any tips on the best restaurants that aren't too expensive for a nice dinner? We want to make the most of our time without feeling rushed.
