My partner and I are planning a trip to Zurich next month and we are really interested in spending an evening at one of the local casinos. We've heard great things, but since we are not residents, we are a little unsure about the best experience. Could anyone who has visited recently give us some advice? Specifically, is there a particular casino that is known for being more relaxed or having better non-gaming options, like good bars or restaurants? Also, do we need to book anything in advance, or is it first-come-first-served? Any tips on local customs or what to expect would be hugely appreciated.

The Casino Zurich is definitely the most polished option. It's centrally located and has a great atmosphere without feeling overly aggressive about gambling. They have excellent bars and a nice restaurant, so you can spend time there even if you aren't playing.

I recommend checking out the Casino Kreuzlingen if you want something slightly less intense. It's a bit outside the city center, but many people find the vibe much more relaxed. It's perfect for a nice dinner and a few casual rounds.

Honestly, don't stress about booking. Most places are first-come-first-served, especially for the main floor. However, if you plan on a specific dining experience, calling ahead for a reservation is always wise.

Local tip: Dress code is important. Think smart casual, leaning towards elegant. Jeans and t-shirts are generally frowned upon, even if the casino isn't super fancy. It sets the tone.

Are you planning to play specific games? Some casinos are geared heavily towards high-stakes poker, while others focus more on slots. Knowing your interest helps narrow down the best spot.

I found the service at the Zurich casino to be impeccable. The staff are multilingual and very helpful with non-residents. Just be prepared for Swiss efficiency - everything runs smoothly but can feel very formal.

I agree with the dress code advice. I wore something too casual and felt immediately out of place. A nice pair of trousers and a collared shirt made all the difference.

For non-gaming options, the restaurants connected to the main hotels are usually the best bet. They offer great views and a more leisurely pace than the casino floor itself. Check out the views near the lake.

Do you think the local customs are too restrictive? I heard that non-residents are sometimes treated differently or given worse service.

Nonsense. The service is top-notch regardless of residency status. Just be polite and respectful, and you'll be fine. Enjoy the experience!

My advice is to visit the casino in the late afternoon. This gives you time to enjoy the bar and dinner without the pressure of playing all night. It's a much more enjoyable pace.

The best thing about Zurich is that the casinos are integrated into beautiful architecture. It's not just about the gambling; it's about the whole evening experience, which is why the location matters so much.

I think the main difference is the atmosphere. If you want a lively, buzzing party feel, go to the bigger one. If you want sophisticated background noise while having a drink, pick a smaller, more intimate lounge.

Definitely look into the opening hours for the specific casino you are considering. Some have limited hours on weekends, which can throw off your plans if you aren't careful.
