I've been trying to use the unibt app for my coursework submissions, but I keep running into syncing errors whenever I switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data. It seems like the app loses connection details and then refuses to upload the final files, even when I manually check the permissions. I've already cleared the cache and reinstalled the app twice, but the issue persists. Has anyone found a specific workaround or perhaps an updated setting I'm missing? I really need this data uploaded before the deadline tomorrow.

Have you checked your device's date and time settings? Sometimes syncing issues are triggered by mismatched time zones or incorrect system dates.

I had the exact same problem last month. It wasn't the app, though. It was actually a conflict with my phone's VPN settings. I had to temporarily disable the VPN entirely to get the data to upload. Try that first, it's often the culprit.

Short. Try restarting the router.

A lot of people forget about background data usage restrictions. Go into your phone's general settings, find the unibt app, and make sure that background data refresh is explicitly allowed for both Wi-Fi and cellular. Sometimes the OS kills the connection process when you switch networks, and that's what's failing.

Is_reply: true. @OriginalPoster Did you try connecting your phone directly to a laptop via USB cable while attempting the upload? Sometimes the direct wired connection bypasses the network switching issue entirely and forces a stable data stream. This worked for me when the Wi-Fi/Cellular switching was causing massive hiccups.

Maybe the issue is with the specific coursework file type. Are you submitting PDFs, or are you uploading proprietary formats? If it's a specific file type, the app might struggle to process the metadata during the network switch.

I think you need to check the app's permissions again, but specifically for 'Local Network Access.' It's a hidden permission sometimes required for stable syncing when switching between different network types. It's usually buried deep in the OS settings.

Is_reply: true. @OriginalPoster I suspect it's a server-side issue, not yours. The unibt platform had reported intermittent syncing problems last week, and they were rolling out a patch. Check the official university IT announcement board to see if they've mentioned any known outages or maintenance windows. Don't blame the app until you've confirmed the server is healthy.

Just switch to a hotspot. Use a friend's phone hotspot for the upload process. It forces a different network stack and might bypass the specific bug related to your carrier's handover protocols.

Did you check if there are any pending operating system updates for your phone? Sometimes, major OS updates break compatibility with older versions of third-party apps like unibt, causing strange connection failures that only get fixed with the latest patch.

Is_reply: true. @OriginalPoster I found a workaround that helped me. Before you start the upload, open a completely different, non-related app (like a simple calculator or notes app) and then switch back to unibt. This seems to 'reset' the app's internal network state and often allows the sync to complete successfully after the network switch.

Try deleting the app's local data folder manually, if your OS allows it. Clearing the cache is good, but sometimes the core data folder needs a full purge to force a clean re-sync of all connection parameters.

This sounds like a known bug. Search the unibt help forum or their official support portal. If it's a widespread issue, they will have a dedicated thread with the most current workaround posted by their tech team.
