I've been trying to get into football betting for a few months now, but it feels like I'm just throwing darts at a board. I've noticed that some people seem to have a consistent winning streak, and I'm really hoping to learn how they do it. Should I focus on specific leagues, or is it better to bet on individual player performance? Also, how much should I risk per bet to keep it sustainable? Any advice on bankroll management or finding value bets would be hugely appreciated.

Start with bankroll management first. Never bet more than 1-2% of your total bankroll on any single match. This is non-negotiable.

Focusing on specific leagues is definitely better. Stick to one or two leagues you understand deeply, like the English Championship or Serie A. Don't jump around; consistency builds knowledge.

Player props are high risk. They are fun, but they are not a sustainable core strategy. Focus on market inefficiencies, not individual brilliance.

Value betting is everything. Don't just look at who is better; look at the odds. If the odds suggest a team is much stronger than the market thinks, that's your value.

What kind of odds are you looking at? Are you using a specific bookmaker or just checking the average? The bookmaker selection matters a lot.

I recommend looking at historical head-to-head data combined with recent form. Don't just trust the hype. Also, check weather reports for outdoor games.

Short term betting is gambling. Treat it like an investment. Set clear goals and stick to them, even when you win big.

How do you define 'finding value'? Is it based on statistical models or just gut feeling? I struggle with the difference.

I find that betting on total goals (Over/Under) is often more predictable than betting on winners, especially in mid-table clashes. Check the average goals scored in that specific fixture.

You need a system. Pick a niche, like betting only on teams with high xG (expected goals) but low recent win rates. That's where the value often hides.

I think the key is understanding motivation. Are the teams playing for the league title, or are they playing for nothing? Motivation changes everything.

I agree with the bankroll advice. I started with $100 and now I'm at $850, all by being disciplined. Never chase losses.

Don't forget injury reports. A key player being out can completely change the dynamic of a match, regardless of pre-match odds.

Are you considering Asian Handicaps? They can help level the playing field and reduce the risk associated with outright win bets.

If you are new, start with accumulator bets on leagues you know well, but keep the stakes extremely low. Just practice the process first.

The best strategy is to bet on the market's perceived weakness. If everyone is focused on the big teams, look at the lower division upsets.

I've found that betting on corner counts or cards is surprisingly profitable. It's a different metric than just goals, and the odds are often less manipulated.

I think you need to read more statistical analysis sites. Don't rely on forum advice alone. Data is your best friend here.
