I'm planning a trip to the area and staying at the South Point Hotel. I've seen pictures of the pool and it looks gorgeous, but I'm on the fence about whether it's actually enjoyable or just nice to look at. Has anyone stayed recently and can give an honest assessment? Specifically, I'm curious about the crowd level during peak hours and if the temperature is generally comfortable for swimming. Also, are there any kid-friendly activities or just standard lap swimming? Any detailed feedback would be a huge help for my trip planning.

It's gorgeous, but definitely crowded at peak times.

We went last week and it was surprisingly manageable. The temperature was perfect for swimming, maybe 82 degrees. I recommend going right when they open to beat the rush. The lap lanes are great for serious swimmers, but the shallow end is perfect for little kids too. Just be prepared for a small cover charge, which is the main cost factor.

Expensive. Overrated.

I found it very relaxing. It's huge, and even when full, there's enough space to just float and enjoy the view. They have some fun poolside games for the kids, which was a huge plus for us. Definitely worth the extra cost for a nice day out.

Are the kid activities really good?

The crowd level was insane on Saturday. We left by 11 AM to avoid the worst of it. If you go early, it's much more enjoyable and you can actually get a decent spot. Bring a book and a towel, and just relax.

Totally worth it for a family day.

I disagree. It was too loud and the service was slow. The pool itself is fine, but the whole atmosphere felt overhyped and the cost doesn't match the experience. Stick to a local community pool instead.

The shallow end is great for toddlers. We spent hours there. They also have some fun inflatable toys you can rent. It's a definite win for families.

It's beautiful, yes, but the water temperature drops significantly in the late afternoon. We left early and were fine. If you plan on staying until sunset, bring a proper wetsuit or plan for a cooler swim.

Seriously, don't waste your money. Just walk along the beach instead.

I heard the pool gets really crowded during the summer months. Is that true?

Yes, absolutely. If you are going in July or August, plan for crowds. Weekends are peak time. Try to book a day trip that isn't centered around a major local event.

The pool is lovely, but the chairs are always wet and uncomfortable. Bring a portable beach mat or towel to sit on. It makes a difference.

We went last month. It was fine. Nothing spectacular, but a nice place to cool off for a couple of hours. The lap swimming was good, but the kid zone was a bit cramped.

I agree with the user above. It's fine, but don't expect luxury. It's a good, solid day pool.

Check out the pool hours before you go. Sometimes they shorten the hours unexpectedly, which can ruin the whole plan. Always double-check the official website for updates.

It's a bit of a splurge, but the ambiance makes it worthwhile. The staff are generally helpful, and the area around the pool is very well maintained. Just remember to book parking ahead of time.

Don't worry about the crowds too much. There are plenty of nooks and corners to find a quiet spot, especially if you bring a book and a blanket. It's manageable if you plan ahead.
