I spent a weekend at the Orleans and honestly, I was a little underwhelmed compared to some of the larger resorts. The room itself was fine, clean enough, but the amenities felt a bit dated. I spent most of my time in the casino, and while the games were standard, the atmosphere was pretty quiet, especially on a Saturday night. I found the dining options overpriced for what they offered. Has anyone stayed recently who could give a more current take on the service or maybe recommend a better local spot nearby to eat?

I agree about the atmosphere. It felt dead, even on a busy Friday. Maybe they need a better promotional event to draw a crowd.

The room was okay, but the breakfast buffet was definitely overpriced. I found a much better local spot a few blocks away that was less fancy but way more affordable.

Don't let the quiet atmosphere fool you. The service staff, especially at the concierge desk, were surprisingly attentive when we needed them. I recommend checking out the local breweries nearby instead of eating on property.

Totally agree on the dining. We ate at the main restaurant and felt ripped off. Stick to the local taco joints instead.

Was it the casino or the hotel that felt dated to you?

I stayed last month and found the service actually excellent. The staff were proactive. The amenities are fine for a budget trip, don't expect Vegas level luxury, but it's solid.

Oh, you should try 'The Corner Bistro' nearby. It's a little hidden gem and the food is fantastic. Much better than anything on the property.

It's definitely a step down from the mega-resorts, but it's a solid stop for a quick, fun night out without the massive price tag. Just manage expectations.

I found the casino itself was fine, but the parking fees were ridiculous. That really added up and made the whole trip feel less worthwhile.

Reply to the user who asked about the dated feel: I think it's the common area and the pool area that feels a bit tired. The rooms themselves are fine, though.

Honestly, the service was inconsistent. Some people were great, others were barely noticeable. It really depends on which shift you hit.

If you're looking for a good local spot, check out the Farmer's Market on Saturdays. You can grab some amazing snacks and lunch there. It's a great local experience.

The casino games are standard, yes, but the biggest draw is the location itself. It's convenient and has a good vibe when it's busy. Don't judge it solely on one quiet night.

I disagree that the dining is overpriced. We had a lovely dinner and felt the quality matched the cost. Maybe try their Italian place next time?
