Hi everyone, my partner and I are finally planning a trip to Sydney and we are very keen on staying at the Crown Resort. We are flexible on dates but are trying to figure out the best time to visit to avoid the worst crowds and get the best deals. Specifically, I was wondering about the value of booking the rooms versus booking a package that includes dining credits. Also, does anyone have advice on which activities near the resort are must-dos, like the nearby walking trails or specific restaurants? Any tips on navigating the area or local transport would be hugely appreciated!

Definitely aim for late spring or early autumn. The weather is perfect, and you miss the peak summer crowds and the Christmas rush prices.

I found that booking a package with dining credits was much better value. It locked in a good rate and gave us flexibility to try a few different places without worrying about the bill.

For activities, you absolutely must walk along the foreshore path. It's gorgeous, especially at sunset. Also, check out The Star's restaurants for a nice dinner option.

Short trip, right? Just take the light rail. It's super convenient and gets you everywhere quickly from the resort area.

Regarding booking, I'd suggest checking comparison sites a few months out. Sometimes a room-only deal pops up that beats the package price, especially if you plan to eat cheaply.

How about the Opera House area? It's a must-do, even if you aren't staying right next door. The views are incredible, and there are tons of cafes to explore.

I disagree about the package. We stayed last year and found that the dining credits were limited to specific venues, which wasn't very helpful. Just book the room and budget for food separately.

Are you thinking of visiting during a major event? Like Vivid or a festival? Those times are amazing but also extremely expensive and crowded.

If you are worried about crowds, try visiting on a weekday. Weekends are always packed, no matter the season. Also, consider using the train line for longer distances.

The local transport is excellent. Use the Opal card system. It covers everything from the light rail to the train, making navigation stress-free.

For a nice meal, try a spot near Circular Quay. It's a bit of a walk, but the atmosphere and the food options are top-notch. It feels very Sydney.

I recommend looking into the walking trails that run towards Pyrmont. They offer a different perspective of the city and are much quieter than the main foreshore path.

If you are flexible, late September is fantastic. The weather is warming up, but the tourist rush hasn't started yet. It's a sweet spot.

Did you check out the resort's own internal activities? Sometimes the best value is staying on-site and utilizing their amenities rather than spending money on external tours.

Seriously, the foreshore walk is non-negotiable. Bring comfortable shoes and an early morning coffee. It's the perfect way to start any day in Sydney.
