Hi everyone, I finally got to visit Sierra Royale last weekend, and overall it was beautiful. The location is stunning, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to maximize our time there. We were looking at the 'Zen Escape' spa package, but I read mixed reviews about the massage therapist rotation. Has anyone here used the spa recently? I'm trying to decide if the extra cost for the premium treatment is really worth it, or if the standard package is sufficient for a relaxing getaway. Any tips on booking or what to ask for would be greatly appreciated!

I went last month and I highly recommend the standard package. The Zen Escape is great, but the extra cost for the premium treatment just wasn't worth the marginal improvement. The massage therapists were excellent regardless of the package, and the atmosphere itself is enough to make it feel luxurious. Just book the standard and spend the savings on a nice dinner at the resort!

Be careful about the therapist rotation. It can be hit or miss. If you are really stressed, call ahead and ask if they can assign you a specific therapist based on availability. It makes a huge difference.

Instead of focusing on the package name, focus on what you want. If your goal is deep muscle relief, ask specifically for deep tissue work and mention that. They are usually happy to adjust the standard massage to meet your needs. It's more about communication than the price tag.

The premium treatment *is* worth it if you are celebrating something major, like an anniversary. It includes the aromatherapy soak and the hot stone massage, which really elevates the experience. If it's just a relaxing getaway, stick to the standard and add an extra hour of massage time instead.

Totally agree. The standard package is perfect.

Replying to the therapist rotation concern: I found that the rotation was actually fine for me. I was lucky that my first therapist was wonderful, and the second one was equally skilled. Don't let the mixed reviews stress you out too much; it seems to be highly dependent on who you get.

When booking, always ask about the length of the hydrotherapy circuit. Sometimes the extra cost is just padding for things you won't use. If you just want a relaxing soak and massage, make sure that's what you are paying for, not a full day's itinerary.

Did you check if they offer any packages that combine the spa with a facial? Sometimes those bundled deals are much better value than trying to stack multiple services separately.

I think the premium package is only worth it if you are going to use the full suite of facilities, like the steam room and sauna, in addition to the massage. If you are just getting the massage, the standard is fine. It's all about maximizing the whole experience, not just the massage itself.

I spent almost $400 on the 'Zen Escape' and I felt ripped off. I felt the standard package was more than enough. I left feeling refreshed, but not magically healed. I think the resort charges a lot for the name brand experience.

Ask for a consultation upon arrival. They can tailor a package for you based on your specific needs, which is usually more helpful than just picking a pre-set 'Zen Escape' option.

Replying to the value discussion: I found that the standard package, when paired with a facial, gave me the best bang for my buck. I would never pay extra just for the 'premium' name if I wasn't utilizing every single amenity they offer.

Honestly, I booked the standard package and it was perfect. The therapist I got was fantastic, and the massage itself was incredible. Don't let the hype around the premium package distract you from the core service, which is the massage.

I recommend calling the spa concierge directly before you go. Tell them your budget and your goal (e.g., 'I need deep relaxation' or 'I need pain relief'). They will guide you to the most cost-effective package that meets your needs.

Just book it. You deserve it. Seriously, treat yourself. It's a splurge, but it's worth the memories and the relaxation.
