I finally managed to book a weekend stay at Excalibur last month, and overall, it was pretty fun. The room itself was fine, nothing spectacular, but the location was perfect for getting to the main Strip attractions. I was wondering if anyone has specific advice for dining there? I'm planning to hit the buffet and maybe try one of the themed restaurants, but I want to avoid wasting money on something mediocre. Also, are the casino floor games worth the effort, or is it better to just stick to the shows and pool area? Any insider tips would be greatly appreciated before I go back.

You really need to book show tickets in advance, even if you plan on just hanging out by the pool. The main shows at Excalibur are surprisingly good value for the money and they are a great way to maximize the evening experience without spending heavily on gambling. Also, for dining, skip the themed restaurants unless you are celebrating a major event; the buffet is usually your best bet for variety without the massive price tag.

Try the breakfast buffet. It's massive and has enough options that you can graze all day.

I think the casino floor is worth it, but only if you are playing table games like blackjack or roulette. The slot machines can be a total money pit. Stick to the shows and the pool area for pure relaxation, though. It's a balance.

Regarding dining, if you want a themed experience without breaking the bank, try finding a happy hour deal at one of the more casual bars near the main entrance. The fancy restaurants are beautiful, but they charge a premium for ambiance. For a solid meal, look for places that offer a fixed-price dinner menu rather than à la carte pricing. This helps you control costs and still feel like you're having a special night out.

Totally agree. The happy hour deals are key.

Don't forget to check out the free activities. Walking the property, people-watching, and enjoying the pool area during the day costs nothing and is often the most relaxing part of the trip. The shows are fun, but the atmosphere around the pool is where you really feel the Strip magic.

If you are serious about the casino, focus on understanding the house edge for the games you play. Don't just throw money at the machines. Also, take advantage of any loyalty program sign-ups; they often give you free credits or discounts on dining or shows. A good tip is to play a little bit every night just to keep the momentum going, but never feel obligated to gamble just because you are there.

I think sticking to the shows and pool is better. Gambling is stressful.

For a budget trip, focus on the free entertainment. The fountain shows and the general atmosphere are incredible. Also, check out the local shops outside the main casino area for some unique souvenirs. Don't let the focus on spending money distract you from enjoying the overall vibe of the resort.

Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes. The resort is huge, and you will walk miles. Also, carry a portable charger for your phone; you will be taking hundreds of pictures and need to keep your camera running all day long. It's a marathon, not a sprint!

Be careful with the buffet. It's great, but the desserts can be overwhelming and pricey if you snack on too much.
