I spent a long weekend at the MGM Grand and wanted to get some feedback from others who have been recently. I noticed they've done a lot of renovations, especially around the main casino floor and the pool area. While the aesthetics are definitely improved, I'm debating if the overall experience justifies the current room rates. Specifically, I'm curious if the upgraded amenities truly make a difference for a standard stay, or if it's just marketing hype. Has anyone stayed there in the last month or two? Any tips on maximizing the value without paying for the absolute top tier?

I was there last week. The pool area is gorgeous, but the rooms feel overpriced for what they offer. Stick to a non-peak time.

I think the upgrades are noticeable, especially the common areas. It definitely feels more polished than before. For a standard stay, I'd say it's worth the extra money if you plan on dining there.

Totally agree. It's mostly hype. Just go to a nearby hotel for better value.

How about booking a package deal that includes dining credits? That way, you can test out the new restaurants without paying full price for every meal. I found that really helped maximize the value during my last trip.

Reply to User 3: I disagree. The improvements are real. Even if you don't use the fancy restaurants, the general ambiance and cleanliness make a huge difference. It's not just marketing.

I found the best value by booking through a third-party site that offered a slightly older room type. It saved me a fortune and the difference in experience was negligible. Don't pay for the 'Deluxe' label if you don't need it.

The casino floor itself is fine, but the elevators and hallways are still a bit dated. If you're just there for a quick night out, you'll spend more time waiting for service than enjoying the amenities.

Reply to Original Poster: If you are focused on maximizing value, try checking out the non-casino entertainment options. Sometimes the shows or specific bars have better deals than the room rates suggest. Check Groupon or similar sites for deals before you book.

Honestly, the biggest improvement was the lobby and the overall flow of people. It feels much more modern now. I recommend staying at least two nights to really feel the difference the renovations made.

Reply to User 6: I agree about the third-party sites. Also, always check if the hotel has any corporate rates or loyalty discounts you might qualify for. Sometimes those rates bypass the 'new wing' premium entirely.
