Is the current Dortmund squad too reliant on a few star players?

I've been watching the team closely, and while the individual talent of players like Adeyemi and Brandt is undeniable, I worry about the overall squad depth. It seems like if one or two key players are out, the team loses a significant chunk of its attacking threat. Do you think the club needs to invest more in reliable rotational midfielders, or is the current system designed to maximize the output of the established stars? I feel like we need more consistent performances across the board, not just brilliant flashes from the top tier. What are your thoughts on the squad balance moving into the next season?

I think the depth is lacking, especially in the central midfield roles. We need reliable box-to-box players who can step up when the stars are rested or injured.

It's a risk, but I think the system is built around maximizing the output of those key creators. Dortmund always thrives when its best players are firing. Depth can be bought later.

Short. We need more rotation options.

I disagree completely. The star players elevate the entire team. Trying to force a 'balanced' squad might actually dilute the quality and make us predictable. We need to trust the system and the talent we have.

Totally agree with the rotational midfield idea. If we can't rely on the established stars 100% of the time, having solid, consistent backup options is crucial for managing fixture congestion and maintaining form.

The issue isn't just depth; it's consistency. We need players who can deliver 70% performance every game, not just 150% once every three matches. That's what defines a truly great squad.

Reply to the previous post: Exactly. It's the difference between having a few brilliant games and having a sustained, high-level performance over a full season. The supporting cast needs to step up.

Honestly, the club should focus on one or two high-impact signings rather than spreading money around for 'depth'. A single world-class defensive midfielder would solve most of our structural issues.

I think the current system is designed to maximize the stars, but the coaching staff needs to be better at integrating the rotational players into the tactical plan. It's a management problem, not a roster problem.

I think the reliance is manageable if we improve the defensive solidity around the stars. If the backline is solid, the attacking players can afford to be more creative and less predictable.
