My partner and I are planning a trip to Las Vegas next fall, and we are really hoping to find a hotel that has a major, family-friendly show, maybe something with a circus feel. We've been looking at a few options, but I'm not sure if the 'circus' element is something the casino resorts really focus on anymore. If you've been to a hotel that combines great shows, a fun atmosphere, and good casino amenities, I'd love your recommendations. Should we prioritize the casino experience or the entertainment value when choosing a place?

Definitely check out Caesars Palace. The shows are always high energy and they have great family dining options.

If 'circus' is the main draw, you absolutely must look into the shows at the MGM Grand or Bellagio. They tend to have more theatrical flair than the pure gambling spots.

The entertainment value should always win over the casino experience for a family trip. You'll remember the shows, not the slot machines.

I loved the show at Planet Hollywood. It was fun, but maybe not 'circus' enough for what you're describing.

What kind of age range are you traveling with? That makes a huge difference in recommendations.

Have you looked into the resort fees? Sometimes the hotel itself is amazing, but the extra daily charges ruin the budget.

I think the Venetian is great for atmosphere, but the shows are more Italian Renaissance than circus-style. Maybe check out the location of the Cirque du Soleil shows you are interested in?

Universal Orlando is better for family fun, honestly. Vegas is more about the adult experience, even if the shows are good.

Short answer: Mandalay Bay. They have huge pools and the entertainment mix is really good for all ages.

I agree with the OP. Prioritize entertainment. Don't get sucked into the casino vibe; book a show package instead.

The Bellagio fountains are a must-see, but for a true circus feel, check out the residency shows at the main resorts.

I think the MGM Grand is your best bet. They have a dedicated area for family fun and the shows are spectacular. You won't be disappointed.

Don't forget to check out the kid-friendly activities besides the shows. Some resorts have dedicated play zones that make the whole trip easier for parents.

The Luxor is surprisingly good for families, and they often have cheaper show tickets compared to the mega-resorts.

You should compare the location of the show to the hotel. Sometimes walking distance makes a huge difference in convenience and time management.

Seriously, the shows are the main event. Book tickets for a few different ones and see what vibe you connect with. Don't commit to just one.

I found that the best experience was staying at a property slightly off the main Strip, like those in Downtown Vegas. It was less overwhelming for the family.

I disagree that the MGM is the best. For a true 'circus' feel, check out the shows at the Tropicana. They focus heavily on acrobatics and physical performance.

Make sure you book your hotel room with a view of the main entertainment area. It really enhances the atmosphere throughout the stay.
