I've been dealing with these frustrating breakouts along my jawline and neck for the past month, and nothing seems to help. I've tried salicylic acid washes, benzoyl peroxide spot treatments, and even switching to a gentle cleanser, but they only seem to irritate the area more. I'm starting to worry if this is related to my diet or if I'm using a product that's causing a reaction. Has anyone successfully managed a persistent breakout case like this? I'm open to suggestions for ingredients or even lifestyle changes I should consider.

It sounds like you might be dealing with cystic acne or hormonal breakouts. Have you considered seeing a dermatologist? They can run tests to rule out underlying issues like PCOS or thyroid imbalances.

Don't forget physical friction. Touching your jawline or resting your chin on your hand can make breakouts much worse. Try to keep your hands off your face!

Have you checked your pillowcase material? Sometimes synthetic fabrics or dirty cases can harbor bacteria and contribute to breakouts, especially around the jaw and neck area. Switching to silk or bamboo might help.

I had the exact same issue. I found that switching to a diet low in dairy and high in omega-3s made a huge difference after about six weeks. Be patient, but consistent.

What kind of cleanser are you using? Sometimes the cleanser itself is stripping your skin barrier, which leads to more breakouts. Look for ceramides or niacinamide.

Are you sure the salicylic acid isn't too strong for your skin right now? If you are irritated, you need to dial back the actives and focus purely on barrier repair for a week or two.

I think it could be product related. Did you introduce any new makeup, hair products, or scented lotions in the last month? Sometimes the culprit is something totally unrelated to acne treatments.

Try incorporating green tea rinse into your routine. It's anti-inflammatory and great for calming down angry, persistent spots.

I noticed my breakouts were worse when I was stressed. Stress management is huge for acne. Try deep breathing exercises or a consistent meditation routine.

I agree with the dairy theory. I cut out all milk products and the breakouts calmed down significantly within three weeks. It really seemed to be the trigger.

Consider using a dedicated jawline treatment like a gentle exfoliating mask once a week. Don't overdo it, though.

You might need a full skin cycle reset. Stop all active ingredients for ten days. Focus only on gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and applying a bland barrier cream. Then, slowly reintroduce one active ingredient at a time to see which one causes a reaction. This methodical approach is key to figuring out the culprit.

Have you tried using a washcloth that is specifically designed for acne-prone skin? Regular washcloths can harbor bacteria and just spread the problem around.

The neck area is often overlooked. Sometimes the breakouts are caused by friction from collars, scarves, or even poor posture. Be mindful of what touches that skin.

Maybe it's just seasonal. Sometimes breakouts are cyclical and just happen when the weather changes. Give it time and don't panic.

Please remember that I am not a doctor. If the breakouts are painful, deep, or spreading rapidly, you absolutely need professional medical advice. Self-treating can sometimes make things worse.

I found that applying a cool compress in the morning really helped reduce the redness and inflammation. It's surprisingly effective.

Maybe try incorporating probiotics into your gut health. Skin and gut health are deeply connected, and improving your gut flora can sometimes clear up persistent skin issues.
