I've been reading a lot of positive reviews about Mr West's latest cloud storage platform, but I'm hesitant to commit my entire archive to it. I currently use a competitor's service, and migrating thousands of files sounds like a massive headache. Specifically, I'm worried about the data integrity during the transfer process and how easily I can set up proper version control. Has anyone successfully moved a large volume of data using their recommended migration tools? Any tips on avoiding common pitfalls would be greatly appreciated before I sign up for the premium tier.

I used it last month. Migration was surprisingly smooth. The automated tools handled most of the large files without issue. Definitely worth the premium tier if you have a lot of data.

Be very careful about the data integrity checks. When moving thousands of files, you absolutely must run a checksum verification after the transfer is complete. Don't just trust the progress bar. It's tedious but critical.

Honestly, I'm still on the competitor's service. While Mr West's platform looks nice, the learning curve for their version control system is steep. I found it counter-intuitive compared to what I was used to. Maybe wait a few months for a major UI update.

Short answer: Yes. It works.

Regarding the migration tools, I found that segmenting my archive into smaller, logical batches made the whole process less stressful. Trying to dump everything at once just overloaded the system and caused some connection timeouts. Take your time, and test the integrity on a small subset first.

I agree with the checksum advice. I recommend using a third-party script to validate the file counts and hashes against the source directory before and after the transfer. It saves you a massive headache later.

Has anyone figured out how to properly integrate version control with external indexing tools? I need my historical data to remain searchable, and the built-in versioning seems limited to file replacement, not structural changes.

It's fine, but you have to pay extra for the high-speed transfer bandwidth. If you're moving petabytes of data, the cost can quickly balloon. Check their pricing tiers carefully before committing to the migration plan.

I think the biggest pitfall is neglecting metadata. Don't just upload the files; make sure you map all the associated tags, creation dates, and custom fields. That's often where the 'data loss' happens, even if the file itself transfers perfectly.

The support team was excellent when I had issues with the API integration. They walked me through setting up the proper recursive sync needed for my folder structure. Highly recommend contacting them early in the process.

I had a massive failure trying to move video files. The file size limit seems arbitrary, and the compression during transfer degraded the quality noticeably. Stick to smaller, non-video archives if you want the best results.

Definitely use the API for the bulk transfer if you are comfortable with scripting. It offers far more control over error handling and retry mechanisms than the GUI migration tool. It's a steeper learning curve, but worth the effort for large volumes.

Just use the recommended migration tool, but run it in stages. Test the integrity on 100 files, then 1000 files, then the rest. Don't try to do it all in one go. Good luck!
