I'm planning a trip to Jaipur next month and I've been relying on OYO bookings because of the location and price point. However, I've seen several recent reviews mentioning cleanliness issues and maintenance problems in different cities. Before I commit to a booking, I was hoping to get some firsthand accounts from people who have stayed there recently. Specifically, I'm worried about the bathroom facilities and whether the staff are reliable enough to handle basic requests. Any advice on which specific areas or types of rooms are generally better maintained would be hugely appreciated.

Honestly, it's hit or miss. My last stay in Delhi was okay, but the bathroom was definitely subpar. I'd recommend checking Google Maps for recent photos before booking anything.

I totally get your concern. I stayed in Jaipur last month, and the cleanliness was questionable. The staff were polite, but maintenance was non-existent. You really have to book the premium rooms if you want anything decent.

Avoid OYO if you can. Just use Airbnb or book directly with established local hotels. The savings aren't worth the risk to your comfort.

I had a really bad experience with a branch near the city center. The AC wasn't working, and when I called, they just told me to live with it. Seriously disappointing service.

Hey, @OriginalPoster, have you checked if the specific OYO property has a high rating from multiple sources, not just OYO's internal score? Sometimes the management changes, and the quality drops dramatically.

I found that if you book the ones that are part of a larger, established hotel chain (even if branded as OYO), they tend to be better maintained. It's a gamble, but it helps.

Speaking of Jaipur, I stayed at one that was supposed to be 'luxury' and the bathroom was just... basic. The tiles were chipped, and the water pressure was awful. Don't rely on the pictures, trust me.

Reply to @OriginalPoster: I think focusing on the *area* might be more useful than the brand. Stick to neighborhoods known for tourist infrastructure, regardless of the hotel brand. It minimizes risk.

Short answer: Budget for an extra 20-30% if you want a decent night's sleep. The savings OYO promises often come with major compromises on basic amenities like hot water or functioning plumbing.

I agree with the advice above. And please, always take pictures of the room and bathroom upon arrival. It helps if you need to file a complaint later.

My advice is to read reviews from people who stayed in the last 30 days. Older reviews might reflect a time when the management was different. Good luck with your trip!
