I've been watching MrGreen's poker content for a while now, and while it's entertaining, I'm starting to wonder about the actual strategic depth. Does he genuinely teach advanced concepts, or is it more focused on storytelling and drama? Specifically, I'm curious about his approach to multi-way pots and how he handles reads on aggressive players. I tried applying some of the concepts he mentioned about position, but it felt vague when I played it out myself. Has anyone else noticed if his advice is generally solid, or if it's more of a high-level overview for beginners?

I think he's solid, but you have to filter out the fluff. Focus on his pre-flop ranges, those are usually spot on.

Honestly, I found it too basic. It felt like a high-level overview for absolute beginners, not enough depth for intermediate players like myself.

Multi-way pots are where he struggles, in my opinion. He seems to rely too much on simple positional play rather than complex read-based adjustments.

I disagree. His handling of reads on aggressive players was surprisingly nuanced. He actually gave a great breakdown of exploiting over-bluffing tendencies.

Totally agree about the vagueness. When he talks about 'adjusting your read,' he never specifies what that adjustment actually entails in practice. It's too conceptual.

Has anyone else noticed that his videos are heavily edited to maximize drama? It distracts from the actual strategic points he's trying to make.

I watched his segment on pot odds and it was genuinely educational. He explained the math clearly, which is rare in poker content.

Replying to the previous post: Yes, I think the storytelling is a major component. Sometimes the drama overshadows the actionable advice. It's entertainment first, strategy second.

His advice on position is fine, but you need to pair it with advanced game theory concepts to really make it stick. It's a good starting point, but not the endgame.

I think the problem isn't MrGreen, it's us. We expect every YouTuber to be a perfect GTO master, which is impossible. He's doing a good job for general viewers.

I tried playing his multi-way strategy and it failed miserably. Maybe I just don't have the natural feel for it, or maybe the advice is flawed.

The best part of his content is watching him analyze professional play. It gives you a high-level view of what good poker looks like, even if the specific plays are simple.

I found his section on bluff catching excellent. It was detailed enough that I could immediately apply it to my own play style. Definitely solid advice.

To build on the point about vagueness: He needs to use more specific hand examples. Instead of 'be cautious,' he should say, 'if you face a 3-bet with AJo, fold 80% of the time.'
