I'm trying to plan a trip and keep seeing Tachi Palace pop up everywhere, but I can't find any recent, unbiased reviews. I'm specifically interested in knowing what people think about the ambiance and the quality of the main dishes. Does the service match the hype, or is it overpriced? I've heard mixed things, some saying it's incredible and others saying it's overrated. Any detailed feedback on a recent visit would be hugely appreciated, especially if you went last month or two.

I went about six weeks ago. Honestly, the ambiance is stunning, totally worth the hype just for the decor. But be prepared for the price point; it's definitely a splurge.

Don't go expecting everything to be perfect. The main dishes were decent, nothing revolutionary. Service was slow, though, which really dragged down the experience. Maybe save your money for a nice local spot instead.

Overrated. Seriously. I felt like I was paying for the name, not the food. The dishes were bland, and the portions were tiny. Skip it.

Last month's visit: Amazing. The Peking duck was incredible, truly melt-in-your-mouth good. The service staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely worth the splurge for a special occasion.

Totally agree with the service being slow. I waited nearly 45 minutes just for our appetizers. Needs better management.

If you go, call ahead and make a reservation. It's crucial. Also, ask about the seasonal specials; they usually have the best dishes. It's a bit pricey, but the atmosphere makes up for it.

Short and sweet: Beautiful place. Expensive. Great food. 8/10.

I found the service adequate, but the main dishes were inconsistent. Some were fantastic, others tasted like they'd been sitting out. I'd give it a cautious 6/10.

Reply to the user who said it was overrated: I disagree completely. The ambiance alone makes it worth the money, even if the food isn't perfect every time. It's an experience, not just a meal.

I went two months ago. The ambiance is unmatched, I'll give it that. For the food, stick to the seafood mains; they were the highlight of the meal. The service was professional, though a bit formal.

Is it really that bad? I heard the ambiance is breathtaking. I'm willing to risk the price for a good night out.

Honestly, the hype is real, but manage your expectations. It's high-end dining, so it's going to be formal and expensive. The dishes are flavorful, but don't expect rustic comfort food.

The dessert selection was surprisingly good, actually. I didn't expect it, but it rounded out the meal perfectly. Great place for a celebration.

If you're sensitive to crowds, maybe avoid peak dinner hours. It gets really loud, which detracts from the ambiance. Go early or late.

To answer the service question: it depends on which server you get. We had one who was phenomenal and made the whole evening feel seamless. Definitely worth trying if you're lucky!
