I've been playing the updated version of the Hermes game for about two weeks now, and I'm having a really hard time optimizing my character. The meta seems to have shifted drastically since the last patch, and my current build feels completely underpowered against the raid bosses. Specifically, I'm trying to balance the speed utility with the damage output, but it feels like I'm always sacrificing one for the other. Has anyone managed to find a reliable combination of gear and skills that works well in high-level content? Any advice on specific stat allocations or talent points would be hugely appreciated.

Dude, dump all your points into Crit Chance. Speed is secondary in raids.

I found a solid combination last week. Focus on the 'Aether Flow' talent tree and pair it with the Crimson Shard set. It really boosts sustained damage while keeping your movement utility high enough for boss mechanics. Try stacking those nodes, and you should see a massive increase in DPS. Remember to adjust your rotation timing; it's key.

Try the basic stat allocation first. Don't overthink it.

Are you running the updated weapon stats? Because the old ones are totally useless now. I switched to the 'Stormforged Blade' and my damage output jumped by 20% instantly. It completely changes the speed/damage balance in favor of damage, which is what you need for raid bosses.

I agree with the Crimson Shard set. It's the meta right now.

Honestly, the speed utility is overrated. Focus purely on burst damage and survivability. Use the 'Guardian' passive talent instead of the speed nodes. It gives you enough uptime to survive the big damage spikes while still hitting hard enough to clear trash mobs quickly.

What specific gear pieces are you using? Maybe I'm missing a key synergy.

>> @User456: I think you're overestimating the Guardian passive. While survivability is important, if you can't deal damage, you're just a slow, squishy target. You need to maintain pressure. Try mixing Guardian with the 'Catalyst' talent for a better balance.

Just use the stat weights from the official build guide. They updated it for a reason.

I've been testing a build that emphasizes resource generation. Instead of pure damage, focus on skills that let you generate excess 'Aether' quickly. Then, use that excess resource to trigger massive damage bursts when the boss is vulnerable. It's less about raw DPS and more about maximizing uptime during weak phases.

Is the new patch actually balanced? Feels like a total nerf to melee characters.

The 'Stormforged Blade' is great, but only if you pair it with the 'Aether Flow' talent. Otherwise, the synergy is weak. Make sure your primary damage skill has the correct proc chance.

Short and sweet: Focus on Crit Damage over Crit Chance.

I found that sacrificing some pure damage for increased cooldown reduction was the biggest game-changer. Being able to cycle through your high-damage abilities faster means you spend less time in the wind-down period, which is crucial in raid encounters. It's a subtle shift, but massive in execution.

What about the secondary stats? Should I prioritize Haste or Mastery?

>> @User123: Haste is king for Hermes. It increases your attack speed, which directly translates to more ability usage and thus more damage, regardless of whether you are focusing on speed or damage utility. Don't neglect it.

My current build is 60% Crit Damage, 30% Haste, 10% Crit Chance. It feels stable and performs well against the Void Lord.

Honestly, the key isn't the build, it's the group coordination. If your raid team isn't using the crowd control abilities properly, no amount of personal optimization will save you. Check your raid group's communication.

Check out the theorycrafting sites. They usually have updated spreadsheets for the current patch. Don't rely just on forum anecdotal evidence.
