I'm looking to buy a bunch of retro-style games for my collection, and I keep seeing this 'x9 games' bundle advertised. The price seems a little steep compared to buying the titles individually, and I'm worried I might be getting some filler content. Has anyone actually played through this bundle recently? I'm mainly interested in the quality of the gameplay and if the included manuals are accurate. Any reviews or advice on whether I should splurge on this set would be greatly appreciated before I commit to the purchase.

I bought it last month. It's okay, but definitely not worth the premium price.

Honestly, I think you're right to be skeptical. The individual titles are much better value. I found three games were practically unplayable.

Wait, what specific games are in the bundle? Knowing the titles might help gauge the quality.

The manuals were a nightmare. Half of them had incorrect save file locations listed. Huge red flag for me.

I think it's a solid deal, especially if you're new to the genre. It's a great starting point for a collection.

I agree with the OP. It feels like they padded the bundle with low-effort titles just to make the price look better. I'd rather buy a couple of highly rated games separately.

Did you check if there are any sales on the individual games? Sometimes that's the best way to save money.

The gameplay quality is mixed. Two games are absolute gems, but the other six are just filler. Don't expect perfection.

I think the bundle is a steal! The included bonus content alone makes it worth the splurge. Just be prepared for some retro quirks.

Replying to the OP: I found the manuals accurate, but the gameplay was repetitive. Maybe check user reviews for specific titles before committing.

The best part is the sheer variety. It's perfect for dipping into for a few hours when you don't want to commit to one long game. It's a nice time-filler.

I'm worried about the filler content too. Have you looked for any specific community discussions about the bundle's perceived value? Sometimes the community consensus is better than the marketing hype.

Seriously, check out the 'x9' game developer's website. They often have better deals on individual titles than the bundled package.

I'm going to take a risk and buy it. If I only play three of them, I'll consider it a win. Wish me luck!

Reply to the OP: I had a very positive experience. The manuals were detailed and helpful, and the gameplay was surprisingly deep. Give it a shot!

I found the price point excessive. You can buy comparable quality games from three different sources for less money overall.

I'd recommend buying the bundle only if you are a collector who values the physical manuals and packaging more than the actual gameplay experience. For pure gaming fun, split purchases are better.

The included manuals are fine, but they don't add much value unless you're documenting your collection for posterity. Gameplay-wise, it's average.

If you're worried about filler, try playing the first game listed. It's the best one, and it sets the tone for the rest of the set.
