I've been looking into the concept of a full year of structured fitness using the Livesport platform, but I'm completely overwhelmed by the options. I want something sustainable, not just a quick challenge. For someone who is intermediate and wants to improve endurance and overall mobility, what is the most effective way to sequence the different modules? Should I focus on building strength first, or should I start with cardio to build a base? Any advice on balancing recovery days with intense training would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your input!

You should absolutely prioritize mobility first. It prevents injuries when you ramp up the endurance work later in the year. Start slow and build.

I recommend a cyclical approach. Don't try to do strength, cardio, and mobility all at once. Dedicate quarters to specific focuses, then transition. Livesport has great foundational modules for this.

Just start with the 'Foundational Fitness' module. It's designed for intermediates and it builds a solid base without overwhelming you. Consistency is key, not intensity.

Listen to your body. If you feel persistent soreness, take a full rest day, even if the plan says otherwise. Recovery is part of the training.

Focus on zone 2 cardio for the first three months. This builds aerobic capacity without the burnout of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Then, weave in strength.

How long should I dedicate to strength vs. cardio? Should I aim for a 50/50 split, or lean more into one area?

I found that combining mobility warm-ups before *every* session, regardless of type, made a huge difference. It really keeps the joints ready for the intensity.

I think starting with strength is better. If your muscles aren't strong enough, your cardio sessions will just lead to overuse injuries. Build the engine first.

I disagree with starting with strength. If you build muscle without the endurance base, you'll hit a plateau quickly. You need the cardio stamina to sustain the strength gains.

A good structure might be: Months 1-3 (Mobility/Foundation), Months 4-9 (Endurance Focus), Months 10-12 (Strength Integration/Peak). This gradual increase is key.

What about nutrition? Is that something I should be factoring into the 365-day plan, or should I treat it separately?

The Livesport app has specific recommendations for periodization. Look up their advanced training guides; they map out year-long cycles perfectly.

Reply to the 'I disagree' comment: You need both, but start with mobility. Mobility is the bridge between raw strength and sustained cardio. It improves movement patterns, which is the root cause of most injuries.

Short bursts of activity are great. Don't feel obligated to train for 60 minutes every single day. Sometimes 20 minutes of focused movement is more effective.

Remember to schedule 'active recovery' days. This isn't just rest; it's light walking, stretching, or foam rolling. It helps flush out lactic acid and keeps the joints moving.

I'd suggest a 4 weeks on, 1 week deload cycle. This allows your body to absorb the training stress and adapt without burning out. Livesport has modules for deloading.

I found that incorporating yoga or Pilates modules from Livesport really helped my overall mobility and core strength, which supported my running endurance greatly.

Consistency over perfection. If you miss a day, don't panic and quit. Just pick up where you left off. The goal is the habit, not the flawless execution.
