My family and I are planning a trip to the Cherokee area soon, and we are really looking forward to visiting the casino. We are first-time visitors, so I was hoping some seasoned travelers could offer some advice. Specifically, are there any specific times or days that are better for general entertainment or maybe for finding good deals on things like slot machines? Also, does anyone know if there are good, non-casino dining options nearby that aren't too expensive? Any local tips on parking or navigating the area would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely go on a weekday. The crowds are much smaller, and the deals are often better for non-peak times.

For dining, try the restaurants a bit further away from the main casino strip. They tend to be more local and less touristy. I recommend checking out the options near the historic downtown area.

Parking is usually straightforward. Just follow the signs, but be prepared for a bit of a walk once you get to the main entrance.

Early afternoon is great for slots. They often run special promotions or bonus rounds before the evening rush hits.

I found that visiting right after lunch (around 1:30 PM) was perfect. The energy was high, but it wasn't overwhelmingly packed like the evenings. Also, the deals seemed more accessible.

Hey, are you planning to stay in the casino hotel or somewhere outside?

The local BBQ spots are fantastic. They are a short drive from the casino and offer much better value than the onsite dining options. Check out 'Smoke Stack' - it's a local favorite.

I agree with the weekday advice. Also, consider checking the casino's official website for daily promotions. They often list specific times for bonus play or special tournaments. It's always smart to plan ahead!

Parking is easiest if you use the designated lot on the opposite side of the main entrance. It's a quick shuttle ride over.

If you're looking for non-casino dining, definitely explore the areas near the river. There are some lovely, more rustic spots that focus on Appalachian cuisine. It's a great change of pace from the casino atmosphere.

I think Saturday nights are the best for entertainment. The atmosphere is electric, and there are usually live bands or shows going on. Just be ready for bigger crowds and higher prices.

Did you know that many local shops offer discounts if you mention you're visiting the casino? It's a small trick, but it helped me save some money on souvenirs.

I found that taking a local bus service to the dining areas was much easier than driving and finding parking. It saved me a ton of stress and time.

Be careful about scams. If someone approaches you offering 'guaranteed wins' or 'insider tips' on machines, just politely decline and walk away. Stick to the official promotions.

The best deals are often found on the slot machines during the 'happy hour' period, usually mid-afternoon. Also, check out the video poker machines; they can sometimes offer better payouts than the big slot banks.

Reply to the parking question: If you are staying in the nearby town rather than the hotel, parking is a breeze. Just park in the main lot and walk towards the river access points. It's much more scenic.

Don't forget to check out the local arts and crafts markets! They are usually set up near the main square and are a great way to get a feel for the culture without spending a fortune.

I recommend setting a budget for the day and sticking to it. It makes the experience much more enjoyable and less stressful. Have a wonderful trip!
