My partner and I are planning a weekend trip to Cincinnati and we're really excited to explore the Broadway area. We've heard it's a fun spot, but we're overwhelmed by the sheer amount of options. Could some locals give us advice on what we absolutely shouldn't miss? Specifically, we're looking for recommendations for dinner that isn't too expensive, and maybe a fun activity besides just walking around. Any tips on parking or getting around the area would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You guys HAVE to check out the Broadway Casino area in the evening. It's lively, and there are always street performers. For dinner, try the place on Main Street that does elevated pub food. It's great value.

Parking is brutal. Seriously, use the public lot near the riverfront or park a bit further out and take a quick Uber. It saves you a headache.

Short and sweet: The local BBQ spot near the end of Broadway is amazing. Don't miss it!

I agree about the parking. Also, if you are looking for a fun activity, check out the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. It's a bit out of the immediate Broadway core, but it's a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and is easily accessible by bus.

Hey, I heard the brewery scene is the best thing to do. There are several spots clustered together, so you can hop from one to the next without much trouble. It's fun, casual, and affordable.

I think the zoo is overrated. Have you tried the little vintage shops tucked away on the side streets? That's where the real treasure hunting happens. It's a fun, free activity.

For dinner, skip the tourist traps right on the main drag. Walk two blocks over and look for a neighborhood Italian place. They usually offer great family-style meals that won't break the bank. I had a fantastic pasta dish last time.

Oh, the brewery idea is good, but make sure to check out the specific tasting room hours beforehand. Some of them close early, and you don't want to waste time driving around looking for open doors. Also, the atmosphere is much better if you go on a weekday evening.

If you're on a budget, grab some food from the local market near the river. It's fresh, delicious, and way cheaper than any sit-down restaurant. Great for a picnic vibe.

The BBQ spot is great, but be prepared for a line. If you go right at peak dinner time (6-7 PM), you might wait a while. Maybe aim for an earlier dinner to beat the rush.

Just take the bus! Seriously, don't bother with a car. The bus system is surprisingly efficient for getting around the core areas and it's much less stressful than hunting for street parking.

To answer your question about activities, besides just walking, I highly recommend catching a local band or a show at one of the smaller venues. It adds a whole different energy to the evening and is usually very affordable. It's a true Cincinnati experience!
