I've been trying to optimize my character's approach to the 'Crown Play' mechanic in this campaign, but I keep getting stuck on the endgame resource management. Specifically, when do we gain the most benefit from sacrificing a lower-tier asset to secure a higher-tier victory point? My current build seems too reliant on direct combat, and I suspect I'm missing a key diplomatic or economic angle. Has anyone played this module before who can share some advanced tips on maximizing the 'crown play' potential without burning through all our influence points too early? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You are definitely overlooking the 'Trade Agreement' track. It's the primary source of late-game influence generation, far more reliable than direct combat wins.

Focus less on the raw combat power and more on the diplomatic synergy. Look into the 'Cultural Influence' spending track; it often unlocks hidden resource multipliers.

Short-term gains are always a trap. Always plan for the 4th round. Don't burn your influence points early just because the immediate reward looks good.

I found that sacrificing a Tier 2 asset for a guaranteed 'Minor Victory Point' is mathematically superior to risking a full combat round for a potential high reward. It stabilizes your resource curve.

Hey, @User_Name, I disagree about relying solely on trade agreements. If the opponent controls the trade routes, you are completely exposed. You need a military deterrent.

The key is timing. Wait until your opponent commits their main force before you initiate the asset sacrifice. It forces them to react defensively, wasting their turn.

Check the module guide's appendix on resource scaling. There's a specific interaction between 'Manpower' and 'Diplomatic Favor' that drastically changes the value of a lower-tier asset.

Totally agree with the trade route point. Also, make sure your character has the 'Negotiator' skill tree unlocked. It changes everything.

If you're struggling with the endgame, try prioritizing the 'Knowledge' resource over everything else. It unlocks unique endgame objectives that bypass direct combat entirely.

I think the issue might be your initial setup. Are you over-investing in the military at the start? You need to build economic infrastructure first.

You need to calculate the 'Opportunity Cost' of your assets. Sometimes, holding onto a seemingly valuable asset prevents you from taking a much larger, more profitable action later. It's a complex calculation.

The diplomatic angle is huge. Don't just seek alliances; seek *rivalries*. Using your influence to make two major factions distrust each other is often more valuable than winning a battle.

Responding to the trade route comment: While military deterrence is good, remember that a strong economy allows you to *afford* the deterrence. Focus on the income stream first.

My biggest tip: Never let your influence points drop below 10 unless you are absolutely sure of a guaranteed win in the next turn. It's a safety buffer.

I found that focusing on the 'Cultural Influence' track early game allows you to manipulate the starting conditions of the endgame, making the resource management much smoother. It's a long game.

The best strategy is often the simplest: identify the opponent's weakest resource dependency and cut it off completely. Don't try to beat them at their own game.
