I've been looking for some recommendations outside of the usual AAA titles. I'm tired of the big open-world games and want something genuinely unique or bizarre. By 'crazy,' I mean anything that makes me laugh, scares me in a weird way, or just has a totally unconventional premise. I've played everything from simulation to platformers, so if you have a hidden gem or a cult classic that fits the bill, please throw it my way. I'm open to anything, even if it looks like it was made in a garage. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Have you checked out 'Baba Is You'? It's deceptively simple but the logic puzzles are absolutely bonkers. You literally change the rules of the game, which is a brilliant, mind-bending experience. Highly recommend it if you like unconventional thinking.

If you want pure, unadulterated weirdness, try 'Untitled Goose Game.' It's silly, chaotic, and the premise of annoying villagers is hilariously bizarre. It definitely fits the 'makes me laugh' criteria.

Don't overlook 'Dredge.' It starts out like a cozy fishing sim, but the lore and the creeping sense of dread as you explore the mysterious town are genuinely unsettling. It builds tension so slowly, it's masterful. Perfect for a weird vibe.

Short list: 'Outer Wilds' (for cosmic mystery), 'Among Us' (for social paranoia), and 'The Stanley Parable' (for meta-narrative absurdity). These are all cult classics for a reason.

I think 'Yume Nikki' is the ultimate answer to 'bizarre.' It's an exploration game with no goal, just surreal, dreamlike wanderings through unsettling landscapes. It's pure, raw indie weirdness.

I agree with the goose game suggestion. It's pure chaos. But for something that scares you in a weird way, check out 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent.' It's more of a horror classic, but the helplessness and atmosphere are unmatched. It's genuinely unsettling.

Okay, if you're open to something that looks like it was made in a garage, try 'Broswer' (assuming you mean a specific retro-style game). Seriously though, look into 'VVVVVV.' It's a platformer, but the mechanic of changing gravity is so clever and unexpected. It's a gem.

Reply to the Yume Nikki suggestion: It's amazing, but maybe too niche for someone who wants a bit more gameplay loop. Have you tried 'Gris'? It's beautiful, emotional, and while not 'crazy' in the horror sense, its artistic journey is incredibly unique and satisfying.

Seriously, 'Don't Starve.' The art style is distinct, and the survival mechanics force you into weird, desperate situations. It's challenging, but the atmosphere is wonderfully quirky.

I'd suggest 'Loop Hero.' It's a combination of rogue-lite and deck-builder that is utterly unconventional. You build the environment as you play, which is a truly bizarre and addictive loop. It's a perfect mix of genres.

What about something really short and absurd? 'Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.' It's a pure frustration simulator. You will rage-quit, and that is the point. It's unexpectedly hilarious and deeply weird.

Haha, I love that you mentioned 'garage made.' Have you played 'World of Goo'? It's a physics puzzle game where you build structures out of goo balls. It's charming, ridiculous, and surprisingly deep. A perfect recommendation for the 'unconventional premise' criteria.

If you like the simulation aspect, try 'RimWorld.' It's a colony sim, but the emergent storytelling and the sheer unpredictability of the colonists' mental states make it feel like a bizarre, ongoing narrative experiment. It's deep and hilarious.

I think 'Hollow Knight' is a must. While it's an acclaimed Metroidvania, the sheer amount of lore, the atmosphere, and the feeling of exploring a decaying, beautiful world makes it feel incredibly unique and deeply immersive. The world itself is a character.

Totally agree with the 'Outer Wilds' suggestion. The feeling of discovering cosmic secrets without any explicit guide is unparalleled. It's less about combat and more about pure, awe-inspiring curiosity. A must-play.

Check out 'The Binding of Isaac.' It's a roguelike shooter that is relentlessly chaotic. The sheer volume of items and synergies can make you feel like you're playing a game that has gone completely off the rails in the best possible way. Warning: it is brutal.

I've been on a whim recommending 'Baba Is You' to everyone. It's brilliant. The puzzle mechanics are so counter-intuitive that they actually make you rethink what 'rules' mean in gaming. It's a cerebral trip.

For something genuinely disturbing, try 'SOMA.' It deals with existential dread and artificial intelligence in a deeply unsettling way. It's less jump-scare horror and more philosophical, creeping terror. Highly recommended if you want to be scared in a weird, thought-provoking way.

I think the best recommendation is 'Cult of the Mountain.' It's a bizarre survival game set in a weird, isolated location, and the narrative elements are truly strange. It hits the sweet spot between unconventional premise and genuine atmosphere.
