My partner and I are finally planning a big trip to Las Vegas, and we're really excited. We've been looking at different dates, and I'm trying to figure out if there's a specific time of year that offers the best balance of fun and value. Are weekends always the most crowded, or is there a weekday window that feels equally amazing but less expensive? We're interested in everything from high-end dining to seeing some major shows, but we also want to make sure we get some time to just relax. Any advice on whether we should aim for a shoulder season or if we should just book for a major event like a festival? Thanks in advance for any tips!

Mid-week is definitely your friend. You get the same major shows without the insane crowd prices.

I strongly recommend the shoulder season, like late September or early November. The weather is great and the crowds thin out after the summer rush.

Focus on one area. Don't try to do everything. Pick a vibe.

If you are going for high-end dining, book reservations months in advance. And seriously consider staying off the Strip for one night to decompress.

Are you considering a specific show? That might dictate the best time to go. Cirque du Soleil is always worth it.

I disagree about the shoulder season. If you want the full festival experience, you have to go during a major convention or event.

Weekends are fun, but the cost of everything skyrockets. Budget for that.

I think you should prioritize relaxation over trying to hit every single show. Book a spa day and just walk around the pools. It's a great balance.

If you are going for dining, try checking out spots in the Downtown area. It feels more authentic and less touristy than the Strip.

I found that booking a weekday stay and spending the weekend day-tripping to places like Red Rock Canyon was the perfect mix. It gave us the Vegas buzz but also the calm we needed.

Major events are great, but they can be exhausting. Maybe aim for a weekend that has a smaller, curated festival feel.

Don't forget to check out the free activities. Many resorts have amazing pools and gardens that are free to enjoy.

I know what you mean about the crowds. We went during a weekday and it was surprisingly easy to get a table at a nice restaurant without a huge wait. Weekdays win on value.

Book flights and hotels together. Sometimes the package deal saves you hundreds, especially if you are flexible on dates.

My advice: Pick a target date range and then check the local calendar for any major sporting events or concerts. That will give you the best mix of energy and activity.
