My family and I just spent a week at the Pestana Ocean and Spa Hotel, and overall it was fantastic, but I wanted to share some thoughts. The location is absolutely stunning, and the ocean views from the park area are unbeatable. We spent a day at the casino and had fun, but the real highlight was the spa experience. The treatments were incredibly relaxing, though I did find the spa menu a little overpriced compared to the quality of the facilities. If you are planning a trip, I recommend booking a package that includes both the room and the spa day to get a better rate. We definitely plan to return!

We went last year and had a completely different experience. The spa facilities were gorgeous, no doubt, but the treatments felt very generic. I spent nearly $500 on a day package, and while I left feeling relaxed, I felt I could have gotten 80% of the experience at a high-end local spa for half the price. Maybe the casino is the main draw, not the spa itself.

I found the pricing steep too. However, the package deal you mentioned definitely helped mitigate the cost. We were able to get a great rate for the room and a couple of treatments combined. It made the splurge feel much more justified.

Beyond the spa and the casino, the resort grounds are massive. We spent a lot of time just walking the park area and enjoying the kids' pool. It's a great place for a whole family getaway, even if you aren't planning to splurge on treatments every day. Make sure to check out the local restaurants nearby too, they are excellent.

Thanks for the tips! Since you mentioned the grounds are big, do you have any recommendations for non-spa activities for kids? We are traveling with a 7 and a 10, and we want to keep them entertained for a few hours.

The casino was fun, but honestly, the main attraction for me was the sheer luxury of the hotel itself. It felt very grand. I wouldn't recommend it solely for the spa, but if you want a full resort experience, it delivers.

It really is a beautiful place. We stayed for 5 nights and felt like we were constantly on vacation. The service was impeccable, which definitely adds to the overall value, even if the treatments themselves were costly.
