I finally made it down to Westgate last weekend and wanted to share my experience with the poker room. Overall, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were very friendly, which is always a plus. However, the low stakes tables seemed a bit slow, and I found the buy-in options quite limited compared to other casinos I've visited. Has anyone played there recently? I'm curious if the game pool has increased or if they've added more variety to the tournaments. Any tips on which time slot is best to go for?

I went last month. It was okay, but definitely slow. I agree about the buy-ins being limited.

I'd say the early afternoon slots are best. The action picks up significantly after 5 PM, but before 7 PM, it's usually a bit dead.

Totally agree on the staff being great. They really make the atmosphere enjoyable, even when the tables are slow. I found the $50 buy-in tournaments were the most consistent action.

The tournament variety is pretty lacking, honestly. They stick to the same few formats every week. If you want action, you might want to check out a nearby casino that has a bigger tournament schedule.

Short and sweet: Go mid-week. Weekends are too crowded and the action is unpredictable.

I found the low stakes tables were fine for a casual night out, but if you are serious about playing, you will be disappointed. The game pool really needs a boost to justify the trip.

I think the issue isn't the casino, but the time of year. During the summer, it seems like everyone is traveling and not committing to long sessions. Try going right after a major local event.

Reply to the user asking about game pool: I was there last Saturday. It was much better than last month. They definitely seem to have increased the number of tables and the buy-in options felt more robust.

I recommend checking out their non-poker activities too. The buffet and other amenities are nice, so even if the poker is slow, you still feel like you got value from the trip.

I disagree that the buy-ins are limited. I played a couple of different levels, from $10 up to $100, and it felt like a good range of options for different budgets.

Definitely go early. Like, 1 PM. The tables are usually quieter then, which is good for strategy, and you won't be dealing with the peak crowd chaos.

The staff were lovely, I'll give them that. But yeah, the action was glacial. I spent three hours and felt like I was playing against myself. Maybe save your money for a place with better game structure.

I agree with the user who said to go mid-week. I tried going on a Thursday and it was perfect. The crowd was manageable, and there was enough action to keep things interesting without being overwhelming.

Just go with the flow. Don't get too hung up on the action. Sometimes, just sitting there and enjoying the atmosphere with a drink is half the fun. It's a low-stakes environment, so don't expect Vegas action every time.
