I stayed at the Quality Inn in Danville last weekend while visiting family, and I wanted to share my experience. Overall, the location was perfect for accessing the downtown area, which was a huge plus. However, the room itself felt a bit dated, and the air conditioning unit was making a very loud rattling noise throughout the night. The breakfast buffet was decent, though I think the coffee selection could be improved. Has anyone stayed recently and noticed any major changes or improvements? I'm curious if the management has addressed some of the maintenance issues I encountered.

I was there last month. The location is truly unbeatable for downtown access. But you are right about the AC; it sounded like it was dying.

The room felt dated, yes. It needs a serious refresh. I also found the bathroom fixtures were pretty old-school looking. It's a shame because the staff were really nice.

Short and sweet: Breakfast was okay. Nothing special, nothing terrible. Just average.

I actually stayed three years ago, and it was worse. The maintenance issues were rampant, and the noise level was crazy. I'd recommend looking at the Hampton Inn nearby instead.

Replying to the AC issue: Mine was fine, surprisingly quiet. Maybe it depends on which wing of the hotel you are assigned to? I stayed on the third floor and barely noticed it.

The coffee selection is definitely lacking. They really should invest in a better variety of grounds or maybe even a little creamer bar upgrade. Otherwise, the breakfast spread is fine for a quick stop.

Has anyone noticed any improvement in the common areas? The lobby looked neglected when I visited last spring. I hope management is paying attention to guest feedback.

I agree with the original poster. The location is perfect, but the rooms are a definite letdown. It feels like they haven't done any major updates since the early 2000s.

I think the noise complaints are common. It's an older building, and the infrastructure just struggles with modern amenities. It's not the fault of the staff, really.

To the person who mentioned the lobby: I saw some fresh paint and new signage near the entrance. It suggests they are trying to improve the curb appeal, which is a positive sign for me.

It's okay. It's a functional place to sleep when you are passing through, but don't expect luxury. Just budget-friendly and convenient.

I had a different experience last month. My room was spotless, and the AC unit was surprisingly quiet. Maybe the management *has* addressed some maintenance issues. I felt the linens were much fresher than usual.

The breakfast was decent, but I found the selection of pastries to be extremely limited. I was hoping for more variety to justify the stay.

I'm really hoping they upgrade the rooms soon. The current decor makes it feel like a step backward in terms of comfort and modern amenities. It's a shame because the staff are always helpful.

I'm going to try it again next time. The location convenience outweighs the dated feel of the room for me. It's a solid backup option.

It's a trade-off. You get the prime location and the basic amenities without the high price tag of a boutique hotel. Don't expect perfection, but don't expect disaster either.
