I'm learning the rules for a new version of Blackjack and I keep getting confused about the face cards. Specifically, I'm trying to confirm how much a King counts for. Does it count as 10, or is there a different value depending on the dealer's rules? I remember some games treating face cards differently, so I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding the basic scoring. Any experienced players who can clarify this would be a huge help before I play for real money.

It's almost always 10, regardless of the dealer's rules.

Just remember: Jack, Queen, King, all equal 10. It's standard.

I've played several versions, and the King is consistently valued at 10. However, always check the table rules, as some novelty casinos might deviate.

Wait, are you talking about specific house rules? Some rare variants might assign different values, but 99% of the time, it's 10.

Totally 10. Don't sweat it. It's one of the easiest things to remember once you get the hang of it.

I think you might be confusing it with a different game. In standard Blackjack, face cards are always 10. The dealer's rules usually only affect things like payout for Blackjack or splitting Aces.

Short answer: 10. Long answer: Unless you are playing a highly customized or novelty game, the King is treated exactly the same as the Queen and Jack.

Replying to the previous post: Yeah, I agree with the 10 value. I once played a game where they said face cards were 11, but I suspect that was a mistake by the house.

Keep practicing. It's just 10. Don't let the complexity of the rules scare you away from playing. Good luck!

I've heard rumors about variable face card values, but I've never encountered it in a reputable casino. Stick to the standard 10 value for Kings.

The only time it might vary is if you are playing a very specific regional or private game. But for general play, King = 10. Don't worry about it.
