My partner and I are planning a weekend trip to Durango, and we are really excited about the options. We are torn between spending a full day at a nice spa for some serious pampering, or spending the whole time at the casino. Since we want to do both, I was hoping someone who has visited before could give us some advice. Is it possible to book spa treatments that are close to the casino area, or are they usually in completely separate parts of town? Also, are there any package deals that combine wellness and entertainment that you would recommend? Any tips on maximizing our time would be greatly appreciated.

You absolutely can do both! I recommend scheduling the spa treatment for the late afternoon, maybe 3 PM. That gives you time to check into your hotel, freshen up, and still have energy for the casino later that evening. It's a perfect transition.

I found that trying to cram everything into one day is exhausting. Maybe dedicate one day purely to the spa and wellness, and the next day to the casino and local dining. It's better to savor each experience.

The spa is usually located a bit away from the main casino strip. You'll likely need a short Uber ride or a taxi. Don't expect them to be right next door.

Check out the 'Wellness Weekend' package at the Grand Hotel. It includes a deep tissue massage, a voucher for the casino, and early access to a lounge. It's a great all-in-one deal.

Short and sweet: Book your spa appointment first. Then, plan your casino time around when you'll be ready to leave the spa. Don't overschedule.

My advice is to look for a spa that is affiliated with a hotel that *also* has casino access or is very close. This minimizes travel time and maximizes your relaxation window. I found a great spot near the river walk.

Are you considering the Riverwalk area? It has some lovely, smaller boutique spas that feel more intimate than the big resort spas. You can then walk to a different section of the casino area for the night.

I think you need to prioritize. If you want maximum relaxation, skip the casino for one night. If you want the full Vegas-style fun, dedicate the whole day to the casino and maybe just a quick foot massage.

To reply to the 'Wellness Weekend' package: That sounds amazing! Do they require advance booking for the spa portion, or can you walk in?

The best way to maximize time is to eat at the hotel restaurant that services both the spa and the casino. It keeps everything centralized and convenient.

I found a deal that offered a complimentary manicure and pedicure if you spent over $100 at the casino that day. Always check for these promotions!

Don't forget to check out local non-casino activities too. A hike or a brewery visit can be a great way to decompress between the pampering and the gambling.

I agree with the user who suggested the Riverwalk. It's much more charming and less overwhelming than being stuck in the main casino complex all day.

Look for spa packages that include a 'Casino Credit' or a 'Resort Voucher.' These are designed specifically to combine both activities and make the planning easy.

My tip: Schedule your spa treatment right after lunch. You'll be relaxed but still have enough energy for a few hours of fun at the tables later.

Regarding the booking: Yes, you must book the spa treatments ahead of time, especially if you want a specific time slot. I recommend calling the spa directly, not just relying on the hotel booking portal.

A great compromise is to book a half-day spa package. Enough time to feel pampered without losing the entire day. Then, you can enjoy dinner and the casino atmosphere.

Remember to wear comfortable shoes! You'll be walking between the spa, the casino floor, and dinner spots. Comfort is key to enjoying both sides of the trip.
