Hi everyone, I'm planning a major corporate gala next month and we need catering for about 150 people. We are looking at several options, and 'beau catering' came up in a few recommendations, but I haven't used them before. Does anyone have experience working with them or any similar high-end caterers? We need options that are sophisticated, not just standard buffet fare. Specifically, we are concerned about their ability to handle dietary restrictions, like severe gluten allergies and vegan options, while maintaining a gourmet feel. Any tips on their pricing structure or if they require a tasting session would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Oh, beau catering. We used them for a product launch last year. They are definitely high-end, but you need to book way in advance. Their minimums are pretty high, so be prepared for that.

I highly recommend checking out 'The Culinary Collective' instead. They have a reputation for handling complex dietary needs without sacrificing flavor. We had a massive vegan spread that looked incredible, and they were very organized about the allergy protocols. Definitely worth the extra budget for the peace of mind.

Short answer: Yes, they are great. But ask for a detailed quote before committing.

Regarding dietary restrictions, beau catering was excellent. We had a guest with Celiac disease and they treated it like the highest priority. They didn't just 'omit' gluten; they created entirely separate, gourmet dishes that tasted just as good. It was seamless.

I found their pricing structure a little opaque. They send you a beautiful menu, but then the add-ons for staffing and specialized equipment really inflate the final bill. I'd suggest getting three separate quotes and comparing the line items very carefully. Also, yes, a tasting is mandatory.

Has anyone worked with 'Gourmet Grub Co.'? I heard they are fantastic for corporate galas and are known for their creative presentation. I'm worried beau might be too traditional for our modern theme.

To reply to the previous post: Gourmet Grub Co. is amazing! We used them for 200 people and the presentation was stunning. They are flexible with vegan and gluten-free options, and their pricing was very transparent. Definitely check them out!

For 150 people, you might consider a station-style meal rather than a traditional buffet. It feels more sophisticated and allows guests to control their experience. Beau can do this, but make sure you specify that in your initial consultation.

I think the key is finding a caterer who views dietary restrictions as an opportunity, not a limitation. Beau is good, but make sure you talk to their head chef directly about your specific needs. Don't rely solely on the sales rep.

I agree with the user above. Talking to the chef is crucial. When I spoke to the chef at beau, he was incredibly knowledgeable about cross-contamination risks, which gave me a lot of confidence. It shows they take allergies seriously.

Just a heads up: if you are looking for something more rustic-chic than ultra-formal, you might want to look outside the usual big names. Sometimes the smaller, local vendors have more creative freedom and better pricing.

Don't forget to ask about their beverage packages too. Sometimes the catering quote doesn't include the drink service, and that can be a major hidden cost. Good luck with the gala!
