I'm planning a trip to the area next month and I've decided to stay at The Westin. I've read mixed reviews, so I was hoping some locals or previous guests could give me some real advice. Specifically, is the gym area good for early morning workouts, and are the breakfast options worth the price? I'll be staying for about four nights, so I'm looking for a comfortable base, not just a quick overnight stop. Any tips on parking or the best local spots to visit from the hotel would be greatly appreciated.

I spent a week there last quarter. Overall, it's a solid business base, especially if you value reliable Wi-Fi and a good check-in experience. For four nights, you'll feel comfortable, but don't expect luxury spa vibes; it's more functional and efficient.

The gym is great for early mornings. It's usually not too crowded until 7:30 AM, and the cardio machines are always working. Just bring headphones, and you'll be fine.

Be warned about breakfast. It is definitely overpriced. If you are staying for four nights, consider getting a local coffee shop near the main square instead. You save money and get a better atmosphere. Stick to the hotel only if you have a corporate rate that includes it.

For local spots, skip the tourist traps right next to the hotel. Walk five blocks east; you'll find some amazing, authentic Italian places and a lovely park perfect for a midday stroll.

Parking is tricky. The garage is expensive, but if you arrive early, you might snag a spot on the street, though you'll need to be careful about time limits.

I disagree about the breakfast being too expensive. If you factor in the convenience and the quality of the coffee alone, it's worth it. I always get the continental spread and it's perfect for a quick start.

If you're serious about working out, I recommend going right when they open, maybe 6 AM. The pool area is also fantastic for a quick lap before heading to the conference. It makes the whole day feel productive.

It's perfect for a business trip. The rooms are spacious enough to feel like a home base, not just a temporary stop. I really appreciated the desk setup and the quiet atmosphere in the evenings.

You absolutely must check out the art district on Saturday mornings. It's a bit of a walk, but the local boutiques and coffee shops are incredible. It's a much better experience than staying right in the hotel bubble.

Are the meeting rooms generally good for small group brainstorming? I'm worried about finding a private space that isn't ridiculously costly.

Instead of the hotel breakfast, try grabbing a pastry and coffee from the little bakery on Elm Street. It's a local favorite, much cheaper, and the quality is surprisingly high. You'll feel more like a local.

Watch out for valet parking. It's convenient, but the fees add up fast, and sometimes the staff can be slow. Just park yourself if you can.

Overall, it's reliable. The staff are professional, the beds are comfortable, and while the amenities are standard for a chain hotel, they do their job well. It's a solid choice for a work trip.

I agree about the valet warning. They are great for dropping off, but for parking for the whole stay, it's too much money. I'd just use the public lot across the street.

The fitness center is well-equipped, especially the resistance machines. It's a good size, and the staff are helpful if you need to know how to use a particular piece of equipment. Highly recommend it for consistent workouts.

Yes, the pool area is always clean and maintained. They have a dedicated attendant who keeps the area tidy, which is a huge plus when you're traveling for work and need a relaxing break.
