I finally made it to The Soundtrack Cafe last weekend, and I was so impressed by the atmosphere. The curated background music was perfect for studying and really set a cinematic mood. I spent hours there and felt like I could write a movie soundtrack just sitting at a table. However, I noticed they only had background playlists and no live acts. Does anyone know if they plan to bring in any local musicians or if there's a specific night for live music? I'd love to hear the cafe's version of a live performance.

Definitely check their Instagram stories. They post the weekly schedule there, usually around Monday morning. I went last month and it was a jazz trio!

They used to have live music, but they scaled back. It's mostly background playlists now.

I agree about the vibe. It's perfect for deep work. Maybe ask the staff directly when you go?

My friend went last Saturday and said the owner was coordinating with a local folk singer. It was really lovely and quite intimate.

Oh, you should try going on a Tuesday. That's when they usually feature a different type of local artist, sometimes acoustic guitar or piano.

Is it always a cover charge for the live acts?

Replying to the person who mentioned jazz: Yes, the jazz nights are fantastic! They usually start around 7 pm and last until 9 pm. It gets crowded, so arrive early.

I think they are planning more. They mentioned a special 'Soundtrack Night' coming soon, focusing on local composers. Keep an eye out!

I found a thread suggesting they might partner with the University Arts Department for student performances. That could be the answer you're looking for.

I'm not sure about a fixed schedule. It depends on who the manager books that week. I recommend calling them a day ahead just to confirm.

Acoustic nights are the best. I went last month and it was a lovely singer-songwriter set. It was very mellow and perfect for chatting.

Totally agree with the background music. It really enhances the experience. I wish they had live music too, though.

I was there last Friday, and they had a fantastic spoken word poet. It wasn't traditional music, but it was a brilliant performance that fit the cafe's vibe perfectly. It was a great alternative to a band.

Just check their physical bulletin board near the entrance. Sometimes they post last-minute changes or special event flyers there.

Don't rely on a set schedule. It's more of an 'as-it-gets-booked' model. It's always worth checking their social media for spontaneous pop-up acts!
