I stayed at the Rodeway Inn last weekend and wanted to share my experience. The location was perfect for visiting the downtown area, which was a huge plus. The room itself was clean, but I found the air conditioning unit to be quite loud, making it difficult to sleep properly. I appreciate that they have clearly updated some of the common areas, like the lobby, but the breakfast buffet felt a bit overpriced for what was offered. Overall, it was an acceptable stay, but I hope they address the noise levels in the rooms in the future.

The location really makes or breaks the trip, doesn't it? Glad you found it convenient for downtown.

I had a similar experience with the A/C. It was deafening. I think they need to invest in modern, quieter units, especially since they updated the lobby so nicely.

Totally agree about the breakfast. It felt like paying for the brand name rather than the actual food quality. Maybe they should offer a la carte options instead of a massive buffet.

Did you notice the new artwork in the lobby? It really brightened up the whole area. It's a huge improvement over the last time I visited.

I wish I could say the same about the noise. My room was fine, but the hallway noise was constant. It was tough to get a full night's rest.

Replying to the noise issue: I found that asking for a room on the upper floor, away from the main street traffic, made a huge difference. It wasn't perfect, but it was manageable.

It's always a gamble with budget hotels. Sometimes the location and cleanliness outweigh the minor annoyances like loud appliances or mediocre breakfast.

I'm curious, was the staff helpful when you checked in? Sometimes the service can make up for the room's shortcomings.

I think the renovations were good, but they should really focus on soundproofing the rooms. That's the biggest flaw I found, even with the nice new common areas.

Overall, I'd rate it a 3/5. The location is a solid 5/5, but the noise and the breakfast cost me two points each.

I agree with you about the breakfast being overpriced. For that price, I expected more variety than just eggs and toast. It was disappointing.

It sounds like a typical budget stay. If they can fix the A/C noise, it would be a much better value proposition for future travelers.
