I spent a weekend at the Palms last month, and overall it was decent, but I was expecting a bit more given the hype. The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable, but the pool area felt a little dated compared to some of the newer resorts in the area. I spent most of my time in the casino, and while the games were fun, the service felt a bit inconsistent. Has anyone stayed recently and noticed a big change? I'm trying to gauge if the overall guest experience has dropped since I was last there. Any tips for making the most of a visit would be appreciated!

Honestly, the vibe is okay, but it requires effort. Don't just rely on the casino. To make the most of it, book a nice dinner reservation off-site, and then come back for the atmosphere. The resort itself is great for a staycation, but if you're looking for a massive, brand-new destination feel, you might be disappointed. The pool area definitely needs a refresh, but the rooms are still top-notch and comfortable. I found that going during the week was much calmer than a weekend.

The pool area really is the weakest link. It feels like it hasn't seen a major overhaul since maybe 2015. It's fine for a quick dip, but if you're comparing it to the massive, modern water parks at other resorts, it falls flat. I also noticed the casino floor felt a little sparse compared to previous visits. It's not a decline in quality, but definitely a decline in energy and buzz. Maybe they need a major marketing push to bring the 'wow' factor back.

I think you're overthinking the pool area. It's perfectly adequate for a casual swim. The casino itself is still a blast, especially if you hit up the high-limit areas. The service inconsistency you mentioned might just be due to staffing levels, not a fundamental change in the resort's quality. Give it another try on a weekday, and you might find the energy better.

My tip is to utilize the spa. It's a great way to decompress and it takes the focus off the casino floor. Also, try the restaurants on the upper levels; they have a much better ambiance than the main ground-floor dining options. Overall, it's a solid spot for a getaway if you know where to look.

I found the service to be the most disappointing part of my trip. It felt like the staff were less engaged than they used to be. Maybe they need better management training or better incentives to keep the guest experience high. It really detracts from the otherwise nice environment.
