Just got back from Royalton Punta Cana - Is the service really that good?

I spent a week at the Royalton Punta Cana last month and wanted to share my detailed feedback with anyone planning a trip. Overall, the resort itself is stunning, and the beach access is unbeatable. My main question is about the service consistency; while the staff in the main lobby were fantastic, some of the restaurant wait staff seemed a little disorganized. The casino was fun for a few nights, but it felt a bit isolated from the main resort action. If you are going, I recommend booking a room with a better view, as the ocean-facing suites really enhance the experience. Has anyone stayed recently and noticed any changes in the amenities or staff training?

The views are everything. You absolutely need an ocean-facing suite, even if it costs a little more. It makes the whole trip feel luxurious.

I went last year and the service was stellar. I think the staff training has improved significantly since then. Maybe you visited during a slower period?

Totally agree about the service inconsistency. It's frustrating when the lobby staff are perfect, but the dining experience is a letdown. Consistency is key!

Did you try the specialty restaurants? I found the Italian place amazing, but the main buffet area felt overwhelming and disorganized.

The casino is fine, but I agree it feels disconnected. We spent most of our time by the pool and walking the beach. Don't rely on it for entertainment.

What about the kids club? My kids had a blast, but I'm curious if the amenities have changed recently. Are the activities still varied?

Honestly, I felt the same way about the wait staff. Maybe it was just bad luck, but they seemed overwhelmed. I wouldn't stress too much over it.

Book direct. Skip the third-party travel agents. It usually saves you money and gives you better access to resort deals.

My biggest complaint was the resort getting overcrowded. It felt less 'private paradise' and more 'large hotel complex' during peak season.

It's gorgeous, yes. But don't let the photos fool you. The walk to the beach is longer than advertised, and the chairs are always scarce.

I stayed three years ago and the service was flawless. Maybe the staff rotation is just high there. Just ask for the manager if you have an issue.

I found the resort beautiful, but the room size was surprisingly small for the price point. We were hoping for more space to relax.

If you're concerned about service, I recommend booking a package that includes private transfers and dedicated concierge service. That helped us feel taken care of.

We went last month and the staff were phenomenal. They remembered our names and our drink orders. I think your experience might have been an outlier.

Definitely check out the resort's schedule for non-motorized water sports. They run some great free activities that are much more fun than just sitting by the pool.
