I spent a long weekend at the MGM Grand and wanted to share my feedback. Overall, the hotel stay was great, but I was really curious about the recent changes to the casino floor. The new layout feels much more open, which is a big improvement over the previous cramped feeling. However, I found the slot machine cluster near the main entrance to be poorly lit, making it hard to see the screens properly. Also, while the buffet was excellent, the line management for peak dinner hours needs some serious attention. Has anyone else noticed the same thing regarding the flow of foot traffic in the evenings? I'd love to hear if others feel the new design truly enhances the overall gaming experience.

Totally agree about the openness. It feels less claustrophobic now.

The lighting issue is real. I spent hours at the slot cluster and my eyes were genuinely tired. It needs better ambient lighting, not just the screen glow.

Seriously, the buffet lines are a nightmare at 7 PM. They need dedicated staff just for crowd control, not just more serving stations.

Did anyone else notice the flow of foot traffic? It seems like they funneled everyone toward the main entrance, leaving the wings underutilized.

Short and sweet: Great overall improvement.

I found the new layout fantastic. It really enhances the experience because you can actually walk around without bumping into people waiting for elevators or passing through restricted areas. The flow is much smoother, especially when moving between the casino and the hotel lobby.

Re: The lighting. I think it's not just the cluster, maybe the whole area needs more natural light sources incorporated into the design. It feels too artificial.

The new design is a massive step up. It feels modern and spacious. Worth the trip just for the ambiance.

I agree with the buffet comment. It was chaos. Maybe they should implement timed entry reservations for dinner service to manage the peak rush.

How about the valet parking area? It feels like a bottleneck, even if the casino floor itself is open. That's where the congestion happens.

It's definitely more open, but I think the new layout makes the high-limit tables feel isolated. They are tucked away in corners, which diminishes the 'buzz' of the main floor.

I think the initial investment in the layout was wasted if they didn't fix the lighting. A beautiful floor with poor visibility is just frustrating.

The open concept is great, but it makes it really easy to get lost. I spent ten minutes just trying to find the nearest restroom. Better signage is needed.

The overall gaming experience feels better. It's less overwhelming than before. I'd give it a solid 8/10.

Totally agree about the buffet lines. They need more staff, period. It's not just a flow issue, it's a staffing issue.

I noticed the foot traffic flow, too. It feels like they designed it for maximum throughput, not for comfortable strolling. It's purely transactional.

The new design is fine, but it lacks character. It feels sterile. I miss the old, slightly more chaotic energy.

I'm going to try visiting on a weekday evening. Maybe the crowd management issues are only apparent during big weekend rushes. Fingers crossed!

The lighting is terrible. It makes the screens look washed out and hard to read from a distance. Please fix this.

Overall, a solid improvement. The open space really helps the vibe. Just a few tweaks needed for the amenities.
