I'm setting up a new account on this platform and I keep getting confused by the initial login process. It feels like there are three different steps just to get into the dashboard, and I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong. Specifically, does 'virgin login' mean I should use the temporary password they emailed, or should I immediately go through the password reset flow? Any advice on best practices for first-time users would be greatly appreciated so I don't mess up my account setup right out of the gate. Thanks in advance!

Use the temporary password first. Then, immediately change it to a strong, unique password. That's the standard flow.

It sounds like you are overthinking the process. Most platforms guide you through this. If you are getting confused, try clearing your browser cache and starting fresh. Sometimes the browser remembers old login states, which causes the confusion you are describing. Don't worry, it's normal to feel overwhelmed by new tech.

Just click 'Forgot Password' even if you have the temporary password. It forces the system to confirm your identity and usually prompts you to set your permanent credentials immediately. It's a system safeguard.

Totally agree with this. The multi-step process is terrible UX. They should just use OAuth (Google/Facebook login) for simplicity.

I think the confusion might be because you are mixing up the initial setup flow with the actual login flow. The temporary password is for the initial login. After that, the system will *ask* you to set a new password. Don't try to reset it until it prompts you.

Is it possible the platform requires you to complete a profile survey or verification step before the dashboard is accessible? Sometimes the 'login' isn't the end goal, but just the gateway to the next required step.

Replying to the previous post: While OAuth is easier, sometimes the platform *requires* you to use their internal system for data tracking. So, stick to the temporary password and follow the prompts exactly, even if they seem redundant.

Short answer: Use the temporary password. Then, change it.

Don't panic. Most of these platforms are designed to be confusing initially. Just take it slow. If you are still stuck after trying the temporary password and changing it, consider reaching out to their dedicated support chat. They are the best source of truth.

I found that if I used a different browser (like switching from Chrome to Firefox), the confusing steps disappeared. It was a local browser issue, not a platform issue. Try that!
