I'm trying to use bet365 again after moving to a new network and setting up a VPN. Every time I log in, I get a strange geo-restriction error, even though I know the service should work here. Has anyone else dealt with this specific issue recently? I've already tried clearing my cache and reinstalling the VPN client, but nothing seems to change. I'm worried this is a system-wide block or maybe a change in their API that I'm unaware of. Any tips on bypassing this error or knowing if they've updated their access requirements would be greatly appreciated.

Try switching VPN protocols. Sometimes OpenVPN or WireGuard works better than the default setting for geo-restricted sites.

It sounds like a common issue. Have you tried using a different VPN provider entirely? Sometimes the IP range they use gets flagged by betting sites.

I had this exact problem last month. The solution was to use a residential proxy instead of a commercial VPN. They are much harder for the bookmakers to detect and block.

Short answer: Clear browser cookies completely. That often solves the immediate login error.

I found that if you connect to a VPN server located in a neighboring country (not the one you are physically in), it sometimes bypasses the initial geo-check. It's a workaround, but it works for me.

>> User_X (The original poster): Did you check if the VPN itself is known to be flagged? Some providers are notorious for being blocked by major platforms like bet365 because they are used for illicit activities. You might need a more 'stealth' service.

I think they might have updated their API, as you mentioned. It's less about the VPN and more about the handshake process. Try accessing the site via a mobile browser connection first, then logging in via desktop.

Seriously, check your DNS settings on your router. Sometimes the VPN client doesn't properly handle the DNS leak, and the site detects your true location regardless of the VPN tunnel.

>> User_Y: I agree with the proxy suggestion. Residential proxies are definitely the gold standard for this. Commercial VPNs are getting flagged everywhere. It costs more, but it's worth the headache of constant geo-blocks.

Just wait a day. Sometimes these blocks are temporary maintenance issues on the betting site's end, and they lift automatically. Don't stress too much about it right away.

If all else fails, try accessing the site through a different device entirely, like a friend's phone using cellular data, not Wi-Fi. This isolates the issue to your specific network setup or IP address.
