I've been really interested in the VR fitness side of things, especially after seeing some demos of Lena Paul's work. I'm trying to decide if this is a good investment for someone who is new to VR but wants a challenging workout. I've read mixed reviews about the required physical space and if the tracking is reliable during intense movement. For those who have actually used it, what were your experiences with setup and comfort? Also, are there any recommended accessories I should buy before diving in? Thanks in advance for any tips!

Definitely worth the investment. The workouts are challenging but fun.

I found the initial setup tricky. You really need a clear, open area, at least 10x10 feet minimum. Don't skimp on space or you'll run into tracking issues during high-intensity moves. I recommend checking the official system requirements before buying anything.

For accessories, you absolutely need a good anti-slip mat. It helps stabilize you, especially when you're sweating buckets during the cardio routines. Also, consider a sweat-wicking shirt; comfort is key for long sessions. The tracking itself was surprisingly reliable, even when I was doing floor work.

The tracking is great, but the learning curve is steep. Be prepared to spend time just practicing the movements before you feel like a fitness pro. It's intense!

Is the required space truly non-negotiable? My apartment is smaller than I thought.

I agree with the space warning. If you have pets or furniture that moves, it will throw off the tracking immediately. Use boundary markers or virtual boundaries if the system allows it. Otherwise, clear it out completely.

Highly recommend it. Best workout I've done in months. Just take it slow at first.

Don't worry about the space too much. I started in a converted garage, and while it wasn't perfect, I got used to mapping my movements to the available area. Focus more on proper form than perfect space initially.

The resistance bands they suggest are a must-buy. They really help target the smaller muscle groups that are hard to hit just with movement.

I found the initial calibration process confusing. Maybe watch a few YouTube tutorials specific to the hardware setup before you even open the box. It saves a lot of frustration.

Are the workouts scalable for beginners? I'm really worried about injury.

Yes, they are! The system has difficulty settings that allow you to dial back the intensity if you feel overwhelmed. Start with the 'Level 1' programs for the first week or two. It builds up gradually, which is perfect for new users.

I think the mixed reviews are mostly due to people trying to use it in unsuitable environments. If you dedicate a proper zone and commit to the process, it is fantastic. Just remember to hydrate constantly, even when you feel like you are flying through the workout.
