My partner and I are planning a trip to Mesquite soon, and the Virgin River Casino is definitely on our itinerary. We've never gambled before, so I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place and all the different games. Does anyone have advice on where to start or what games are best for beginners? Also, are there any specific times of day that are less crowded if we want to just wander around and soak in the atmosphere without feeling rushed? Any tips on parking or getting around the property would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the world of sin! Don't feel overwhelmed. Start with the slot machines - they are the easiest entry point for beginners. Set a strict budget before you go, and stick to it.

For beginners, I highly recommend the table games like Blackjack or Roulette. They are fun, and you can learn the basics without risking too much. Just take your time and watch the dealers for a while first.

Honestly, the best time to visit is right when they open, or maybe late afternoon on a weekday. The crowd is manageable, and you can enjoy the atmosphere without the intense energy of a Friday night.

Parking is straightforward. There are several large lots, and they usually direct you to the closest available spot. Just follow the signs, and be prepared for a bit of a walk.

Slots are great for warming up. Look for video poker machines too; they are simple and often have good payout rates for small bets. Have fun!

I found that walking through the non-gaming areas, like the restaurants and shops, is the best way to 'soak in the atmosphere' without the pressure of gambling. Grab a drink and just people-watch.

Totally agree about going during the day. Weekday afternoons are much more relaxed. We went last Tuesday and it was surprisingly calm.

Blackjack is super popular. If you want to learn, ask the dealer if they have a basic strategy guide. It will help you feel more confident at the table.

Seriously, take a deep breath. It's just fun money. Don't feel pressured to play big amounts just because others are. Set limits, and stick to them.

Is it true that the main casino floor gets crazy after 8 PM? I'm worried about the noise level.

Yes, the main floor gets intense after 8 PM. If you want a calmer experience, stick to the quieter sections or just enjoy the buffet area instead. It's a big place, so there are pockets of calm.

Don't forget to check out the dining options! Sometimes just having a nice meal and a drink in a non-casino area is the perfect way to spend an evening and feel like you're 'soaking in the atmosphere.'

I recommend starting with the slot machines on the ground floor. They are usually the most accessible, and you can get a feel for the layout before moving to the higher-stakes areas.

My biggest tip is to bring comfortable shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking between parking, the main entrance, and different sections of the casino. Seriously, wear good shoes.

If you're nervous, try playing a few rounds of penny slots first. It's low risk, and it helps you get used to the sounds and the rhythm of the place.

I found the area near the fountains and the main lobby entrance to be really nice for just wandering. It's beautiful and less intense than the gaming floor itself.

The property is huge. Consider using a map or your phone's GPS to get an idea of where you are. It will help you feel less lost and more in control of your experience.
